Staying on track while traveling

On Friday, my husband & I are going to another city for the day. I am worried about how to stay on track while being away from my comfort zone. Any suggestions? I have always used being in a different city as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted. I don't want to lose all that I have accomplished in one day.

I would suggest you carry bottled water with you in the car, purse, etc. and maybe take some healthy snacks that you can carry with you so that if you are hungry you have something on hand. Also, if you are eating out, there are a lot of healthy options out there. For example if I order a salad I always ask for the dressing on the side and instead of pouring it on my salad, I dip my fork in the dressing and then grab some salad. You would be amazed that just a little on the fork gives you the taste but not the quantity.
You can do this!!! It is just a day and don't let it get you off what you started, don't make the travel an excuse. If you can't log it until you get home, keep a piece of paper with you and record everything. If you go a little over, don't stress over it. Bite it, track it and be done with it.
If you are traveling by car, keep a little cooler with you for the snacks, water, etc.
Hope that helps and enjoy our day!0 -
I agree about taking snacks. Or, if you go out to dinner, ask for a to go box as soon as the meal arrives and pack half of it away.
What are you doing when you go away? Will you be doing a lot of walking, sightseeing? That will be a lot of exercise in itself! Good luck and have fun!0 -
I travel a fair amount for work and this is not easy by any means. For me I don’t do as well as I do at home but I try to keep in the fore front of my mind while I am ordering. For me on vacation I relax things a little also keep in mind most hotels have a workout room of some kind so you can if you have time burn a little of it off. Good luck!0
