First 6 days only 2# gone??

I've been on Medifast for 6 days now and when I weighed this morning, I've only lost 2 pounds so far. It seems like a very slow loss for the first week. and kind of discouraging. I am 5'8" and was at 180, now 178. I have not cheated and there have been a couple of days that I could only do 4 and 1 instead of 5. I've been drinking lots of water. Any suggestions of what I could be doing wrong?

    2 pounds in 6 days isn't bad. I'm losing about 2 lbs/week or less. The last time I did medifast (2 yrs ago), the weight came off quicker and I can't figure out why or what I'm doing differently now. But I'm just chugging along, hoping it still continues to come off at 1-2 lbs/wk. All you can do is make sure you're measuring out your lean and green servings, measuring out your healthy fat serving, checking your allowed snacks, and making sure you're drinking all your water.

    See what you lose the second week. I never have big losses my first week but usually my first two weeks combined is pretty good.
  • You might not be doing anything wrong, we are the same height and weight and I am not a fast loser either (hypothyroid), it's not a bad loss at all! Try to get all 5 in there to make sure your body has enough calories otherwise it will slow your loss. Keep going and don't get discouraged, a loss is a loss!

    I'd also agree to get all 5 in there. When I only get 4 I either have no drop or it goes up. Pretty weird considering you would think that if you eat less, you lose more. Give it 2 weeks, you will likely start to see some better results soon. First time around I only lost 5 lbs in the first 2 weeks and then it seemed to melt off progressively after that until after 2 months I was 20 lbs down. I'll take 10 lbs a month, thank you very much. This second time around, I don't know what the difference is, but it is coming off much faster. Everyone and every time is different. Just don't give up. You can do it and it will pay off.

    Weight loss is a crazy thing. I went from one Wednesday to another only dropping a fraction of a pound - and then between yesterday and today I lost 2 pounds. Who knows - our bodies are weird things.

    The plan works. 5&1 has helped me lose 28lbs in the first 44 days. Only 7.6 to go!

    Hi, I just started the Medifast Program last Tuesday, April 22. I have weighed myself each morning (I know I shouldn't, but I couldn't resist) and I am down 10 lbs even in five days. I can't wait to step on the scales Tuesday morning to see how much I've lost in the first week.

    I am super excited about this diet because I tried it a few years ago and lost weight easily and consistently. I have 47 more pounds to lose. I'm going on vacation to Europe in mid-July and I'm praying I can get the bulk of the weight off by then, but I know patience is the key. At least I can take my meals with me on vacation and I only have to worry about making wise choices at dinner for my "lean and green".
