Question for you

Last night we were discussing walking and someone mentioned Leslie Sansone has designed a series of dvds for walking at home. Apparently they come in different levels from the basics for people who aren't able to move very much to those who can go more than 5 miles. Has anyone heard of these or tried them? If so, what is your opinion?

    Hi hayleyandpaig,

I have one of the DVD's. It is fun. I have the 3 mile one, but only have done a mile. That was before I got my hip replaced. Soon, I will be able to do the 3 miles. It is walking, marching in place, using weights (or canned food) and lifting your arms up and down and sideways. I enjoyed doing it. After a few times I got sick of hearing what she was saying, over and over, lol so I turn down the volume and turn on some music. It is also nice that you can pause the DVD if you get tired and then start right where you left off.

Hi Hayley! I am using them everyday. That is one of the ways I am getting my steps. I have only 1 but plan on getting more. B/c of weather many times I want to walk in the house rather than outside. The closes gym for me is 45 miles 1 way so that is out of the question.

I am very thankful I have found these DVDs.

I've tried dvds for walking. Just could never find a pair that fit.

Actually, I just searched and viewed some of her work on youtube. It seems like a good idea. It is nice to learn of workouts that do not expect you to shred, rip, or spontaneously combust.

    ^^THIS!!!!!

I did try out leslie's video on Youtube, and it was very friendly. I've been able to do most of my walking outside lately, but will go back to it (or my treadmill) when it's raining or unbearably HOT

Hi, I have several Leslie Sansone DVD's. I like them , they are very 'Doable'. She does not put you through grueling work-outs. It's mostly walking in place or side to side. Knee lifts and kicks. Like everything else is can get monotonous but you don't have to do the entire video at once. Like Californiagirl (sorry if I misspelled the name) said, her constant chatter can get annoying but for other people, it helps them get through it, it's like working out with a friend.
