best April fools trick I ever played on my sister was crawling under her bed one morning and when she got up and swung her feet over the bed, I grabbed her ankles.... :noway:

    Hi, to my Hatters !!!

Just stopping by to update. I am tired of no weight loss!!! , especially when it's my own fault!! So I have been tweaking and experimenting. Seems that I still have high glucose numbers ,( not coma high) even with cutting back extremely much. SO a great friend of mine , thanks, Snooze!!, reminded me about the carbs....so I am trying to pick more lower glycemic ones, so they won't make my numbers jump... Following something I saw Tammy write one time , I am adding in more protein....And Seehe suggested better high grade omega 3's....going to look for some today...

I find that I do well through the day...calorie wise, but I am overeating at night...so that may explain no weight loss and high glucose in the morn... so for the past two nights , I have prepared a mixed salad....light on the creamy ranch with no sugar balsamic vinaigrette. Last night I was low!! 99 !!!

Exercise is getting bumped up a bit...Walking with Leslie Sansone at night.....bike through the day...

So that's it for me...Miss you all and I hope to see you on here soon.....

Gail - I'm so proud of you!!!!!! You have been really working at the exercise and experimenting with what works for you, and IMO that's the absolute best way to do it!! I totally agree with Tammy about the protein.. absolutely, positively!! Even with a salad there should be some chicken or ham or some kind of protein because protein is one of the 3 "sugar blocks" (doesn't really block it, but protein helps slow down the absorption of any sugar/carbs into your blood)... and you know I already agree wholeheartedly with Susan she's my own inspiration in this battle with keeping our blood sugars level to keep our organs from getting damaged by them.. and it took me almost a year of experimenting before I realized I was reading the sugar levels of everything instead of the CARB load..

and exercise (walking biking strength training yoga...whatever it is) is also great for helping to keep the blood sugar levels nice and low.... so you are doing amazing!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of you.... I really am!! Little changes as you go forward and find what works for you food wise, and your amazing consistency to the biking and walking will absolutely start helping you lose again as well as keep you healthy...

I can't tell ya how proud I am of you, and I am so looking forward to hearing your progress as you go!!! Well done you... huge congrats!!!!!:drinker:

    Ladies...

    Thanks, needed that...

Working on getting in more exercise ... hence when zumba is offerd for 90 minutes gotta love it...

Once my Lent study is over I plan on going to the gym right after work - on Wednesdays...for the bike or dreadmill or elliptical - or even weight training - seems to be my best night...

I will also try to get in a walk on Saturdays when the weather holds up....

And will continue with Friday night zumba - unless beautification is on the menu (cut / color / eyebrows) - every 3 weeks - gotta keep up the maintenance plan....( the salon is right on the way home for work, so that on Saturdays my car can stay in the drivewayinstead of going out)....(unless for maintenance) ...

I put 70 miles per day on old Bessie (2007 Saturn Vue) - Honda engine, no accidents and she's clean as a whistle right now... favorite PITA took her over to the firehouse.... shhh... my tax dollars at work... giggles....and he even vacuumed her out... and he also did the inside windows... I dusted her with Armor All...just in time for the rain that's coming my way...(better than snow...sorry snoozie)..:ohwell: .She has to last until 2017 - so my next item will be new tires this winter...

Now going for a late night snack - 2 thin mints and 1 mini york peppermint pattie...

    Love you all,

    Hello Hatters,

I hope you all enjoyed Easter.

Husband and I returned home yesterday afternoon from a month long RV vacation. It was so good to get away from the everyday, get away from the cold and snow, and get some daily fresh air and sun. We stayed mostly in the Florida Keys and on Jekyll Island in Georgia. We enjoyed every minute of it but, as always, it feels good to be home. I'll even forgive the tiny patch of snow in the back corner of my yard which should disappear with the rain coming tomorrow and Wednesday.

I did well controlling my diet and urges for the first 2 weeks. Then it was all downhill lol. I have no idea how much I have gained but I will pay that piper tomorrow evening at WW. Accountability is a witch! For today, it's back on the ole treadmill, both figuratively and literally. Time to re-energize and exercise, tackle a mound of laundry and clean the joint. Spring is in the air!

Hope you are all well and determined to stay / get back on track. We know what we need to do.

    Diane

Hey Diane....sounds a bit quiet on the Hatter page..( I finally get Carol saying Crickets are chirping!!) lol ....everyone must be stuck in the winter doldrums...except you!! Congrats on the trip down to the keys...I lived in Pensacola , but we never made it down that far. It's on my bucket list, though. So glad you had a great time!! How can you not indulge when on vacation! It's an unwritten law...there's plenty of time to pick back , now that you're home...

    Good Morning Ladies,

Here I come crawling back....not because I want sympathy but simply because I can't move my legs...lmao. Yard work over the weekend has made mush of my arms and legs.

I have been trying to get over an emotional hump and I am taking today as a new beginning. I feel like I did when I first start here over two years ago. Thanks for just being here and giving me a swift kick in the *kitten* when I needed it most.

I expect I will need several more in the future but mostly I missed all of you so much.

Tonya - as long as the only reason you use the word "crawling" back is because your legs don't work cause of the yard work, welcome back lol!

The great thing about every single day... is its always an opportunity to start anything again.. new mindset, new goals, new attitude, whatever it is that you wanna start new today you can, so good on ya girl!

Not sure exactly what areas the new starts you've chosen are in, but congrats!! we're here for ya for anything, but if any are weight loss goals or fitness goals I'm all in for any support and encouragement if you need/want it - just holler!

Welcome back Tonya... you were missed

Snoozie - you always have the most uplifting and encouraging words...

Gail - I had forgotten (but then I rememberd) (aka winnie the pooh)... that Snoozie had come up with the cricket thought....

My tummy doesn't like me today - think she's getting rid of the fajitas from yesterday... without TMI... well, you know...

Hope everyone has a great day... and zumba is planned, don't wanna go, but will so I don't lose the momentum...

Flowers and Ice Tea all around....

Have a great day my friends. Life is so unpredictable these days. I have a question for you all. Do you like the unpredictability or do you like it to be more steady and stable (boring even)?

I am finding that as I get older the more predictable I like it. Now don't get me wrong, I still like a little spice and adventure but for the most part I am finding comfort in the stability.
There was a time in my younger years where I wanted a new adventure every day and pretty much had one being a single parent and working as much as I did. Now, it's still some kinda crazy and I don't like it much.

How about you? Stability or adventure?

Tonya - I would have to say adventure. With retirement coming in a few years (fingers crossed lol) I am absolutely voting for adventure! I used to think stability but realized t would become too easy for me to just stay in old habits.. and had begun to think of change ... any change... as a negative.. either inconvenient or too much work or whatever... and I realized the older I got, the more I liked things to just stay the same thank you.... but i could see it becoming a habit to get too.... comfortable with routine i guess?

but I've done a complete 360 now... because I got a little worried it would just become too easy to stagnate into the same old same old for me. So now my new rules are: embrace change, never turn down any invitation to do or go anywhere, and try something new every few months... but something that at least appears to interest me, not just anything lol. Even if I find out whatever it is doesn't work for me I want to try my hand at a few things.. and a few places..

My wallpaper background on my cell phone is a picture that says

"This year I just wanna go on more adventures. Be around good energy. Connect with people. Learn new things. Grow.

I keep it there so I see it every time I pick up my phone so it reminds me of what I want! :o)

    so definitely adventure vote here!
