For those of you with multisport HRMs, does anyone know if the calorie "counting" algorithm changes based on the mode you are in (swim vs bike vs run)? Or is that simply so you can have different training pages setup for the different disciplines?

I am pretty sure it changes for bike and run. Don't know about swim, my HRM doesn't work under water. Calories counts are significantly lower for biking.

Same for me, but HR is steadily lower on the bike. At least for me.

Ideally HR is 5ish bpm higher running. You also involve more stabilizers when running.

I've never noticed a difference between running and biking from a resting heart rate value. However your zones will be shifted higher for running when compared to biking (or should be). Z3 biking for me is 127-138 bpm but 158-166 while running.
