Hey everyone,
I'm new to MFP and am a college student majoring in dietetics. My goal is to eventually help others with eating disorders in the future. This stems from my own battle with anorexia. I have been in recovery for a few years now but still am struggling quite a bit when it comes to getting in my meal plan.
Any ideas/tips on how to stay on track while being incredibly busy? I forget to eat because things get so hectic!

Welcome! I am new, too. I know my profile says I joined a long time ago, but I never actually used MFP until this week. I am a first-year law student. I am looking to lose weight, but I have the same problem as you do with time. I find that it really helps if I plan my meals ahead of time. If I am going to be at school all day, I bring some fruit or I will make a salad in the morning before I leave. I also buy pre-cut stuff, the bags of lettuce, and grape tomatoes so it is quick for me to throw stuff together. My other tip is to make simple dishes that will last a few days. These are usually grain and bean based to fill me up. You can also buy high quality breakfast bars or single serving apple sauce and fruit cups to keep in your locker. You may be more likely to remember to eat if you have food that is readily accessible. I also do PB&J a lot, which isn't the greatest food, but it doesn't need to be refrigerated and it's quick to make in the morning.
Have you tried setting a reminder notification in an electronic calendar to remind you to eat? I do that to stay on track with my workout and study schedule.
It is great that your diary is public because we can check up on you to make sure you're staying on track. I am 32 and I have struggled with my relationship with food my whole life. I don't think it ever gets easy when we have a disease; we just get better at managing it. I am glad you were able to combat anorexia head on and you are in recovery. It was brave of you to go through treatment. I am sure you're going to be great dietitian!0 -

Thank you so much for your reply! It means a lot to me and I appreciate your suggestions. I definitely need to get better at planning because when I don't I tend to miss a lot of my meal plan and the cycle of restriction begins. You have great ideas and I should really plan my days the night before so it's an easier process; I'm just usually too tired or forget. Phone reminders would definitely help as well, thank you! I hope you're enjoying law school!0
