From week 32-33 I had NO gain and held steady at 25 lbs gained.. from week 33-34, I gained 5 LBS!!!! That takes me up to 30 lbs gained with 40 days remaining until my due date. I think my goal of gaining less than 35 is impossible now, seeing that my swelling is taking over.

My swelling really started around week 32 which was when I had the 6 lb gain between weeks 32 and 34. I'm not sure how much weight is going to baby and how much is going to water weight. At least it *should* be fairly to lose afterwards... I hope.

Suzanne and Bburg - do you happen to have access to/know a good massage therapist? This is how I have been keeping my water retention under control. I really have no idea how she does it exactly, but every time I see my massage therapist she is able to get my body to drop the retention. I have just a little swelling in my feet and ankles today and I am sure that after I see her tomorrow, it will be gone again, it always is after seeing her.
I count my blessings and am extremely grateful that I happen to have an amazing aunt that is an amazing massage therapist because there is no way I would be able to afford to go see one here.

No Tigger, I've never seen one, and frankly can't afford it. I try to keep my feet up as much as I can, but it's hard at work 8 hours a day. I sit all day at work so when I get home, I am tired of sitting. last night I was in the nursery for awhile doing stuff. I am just going to be swollen from here on out, I suppose.

I understand that, as I said if it weren't for my luck in having one in the family, I wouldnt be seeing one either, no way I could afford that.

Perhaps try rubbing your feet at night before going to bed. If you are luckier than me, maybe you have a hubby that will do it for you (mine won't.)

Best of luck, sorry I don't know of anything else that would help :(

Unfortunately seeing a massage therapist isn't really a financially viable option for me either. :( I have thought about going out and getting a pedicure done though because they do massage your feet a little at the place I like to go to. It's probably not the same as a massage therapist, but maybe it would help? I don't really know.

Thanks for the advice though! I'm not sure I would have thought of it even if I had someone close to me who did massage therapy!

    We're almost through this! :)

Oh Tigger, I wish my DH would do it, but he goes to bed at 7pm! I haven't even sat down at that point. He has to get up at 3:30am and commute to work. We hardly see eachother during the week.

I read last night that if you get bad water retention in your feet you should rub around the ankles each night and then elevate the feet higher than the hips for 15 minutes before going to bed.

I'm 35+1 today.. From last week to this week, I actually lost 0.4 so that makes my weight gain 29.6 lbs.

I'm guessing that I lost some of that water weight that I gained.. Either way. I'm not upset.

Swollen feet started last week for me ... I am guessing some of this extra weight is water. Regardless, I'm so glad to be in the home stretch!!

I actually lost 2 pounds since my last appointment, I'm hoping that means things are getting ready to kick into gear.

i'm at a total of 31 lb right now at 36+2. Hoping to keep below 35, but under 40 would be great. Cant' believe my original goal was only 25 lbs. I have no idea how anyone does it.

I know, eh? I'm at 45 lbs gained and my original goal was to stay around 35... hoping this summer heat will keep me sweating off any further weight gain! lol!

I think the summer heat is my problem! Just as soon as it hit 100° here is when I started getting the stupid water retention, I started gaining weight faster and my feet are swelling. They are only really swollen when I spend too much time in the heat or in mid day and every night they go back down. I think my body doesn't like this heat at all.

My feet have gotten to the point where I can't extend them fully, and it's because I don't have enough skin to stretch that far with all the water in there!

They don't really go down at night anymore so hopefully they just won't get any bigger? *cross fingers*

    Up 46.6 lbs.

ETA: I'm wondering how accurate my scale is... when I first started weighing at home and at the midwife's clinic I was 4lbs heavier on the midwives scale. Now I'm 3lbs heavier on my own scale. Maybe it's time to change the batteries?

I'm hoping the midwives scale is right. That puts me at only 43 lbs gained!

As of yesterday (37+1) I am up a total of 35 lbs.

I have a 3.5 lb gain this week! I had a lot of bad food, and salt. I really need to stop and cut back or it's just going to keep happening like this. I know the end if probably the worst, but If I see 200 lbs, i'll probably cry. For me that'd be 43 lbs gained. Right now i'm 12 lbs heavier than my heaviest weight, and that's bad enough. *sigh*
