Hi, my name is Kim. I eat paleo Monday through Friday morning, then we leave town for the coast (yes, every weekend). It is very hard for me to follow the rules in a little fishing town with only a convenient store. I need help figuring out meal planning. My husband HATES to think about meals more than a couple hours ahead of time. Also, we are going to start trying to concieve in August and I want to be 100% paleo by then. Anyone who can be my pal through this please add me or send messages. I am also on FB. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Hi Kim,
I'm just starting Paleo and would love to help support you. I'm sure I'll run into similar issues as summer approaches! My husband and I are going to try to start conceiving , too.
Have you ever read Cordain's book? He actually recommends going 85%/15%. Assuming you eat three meals a day, you could get 3 "cheat" meals a week and still reach your goals. That is one of the reasons I decided to try Paleo. I can't live without bread, but I certainly don't need it everyday!
Good luck!

I have read about going 85%/15% and I want to cut out the 15% before conceiving, for nutritional purposes. I've read too much about how much better it is for us to eat and live Paleo and how much the American "diet" causes problems. I'm giving myself 3 months to get rid of the 15% but it's not so much that I NEED the crap food or crave it.... It's that it is THERE.... and EASY. I need to work on finding EASY ways to pack Paleo lunches to go with me on the boat, sandwiches are so much easier. It's going to be a matter of preparing the food a few days ahead of time and just being disiplined enough to take them with me. My husband eats Paleo with me at dinner time during the week but seeing him eat a brownie is difficult for me. I need ideas for packable cold meals. Let's stay in touch, Molly.0

I'm generally pretty strict, but I'm not 100% and never will be. I aim for 95% most of the time. I also have the added challenge of needing to remain ketogenic, but i can't complain; I LOVE how I eat.
Oh, you are working on conceiving. You need lots of stuff that will help with absorption of fat soluble vitamins. Organ meat! Bone broth, and fermented foods would be great too. Good on you for taking action BEFORE pregnancy. I didn't and my child's health suffered because of it. I do the best I can now though. :flowerforyou:
PS. I'm ALWAYS gluten free as well. NEVER eat wheat; my one hard rule.0 -

Same here. I'm extremely strict about what I eat, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to be 100% unless you personally cook every single item of food you eat. I eat probably 30 "meals" a week, and 1-2 of them are at a restaurant or quick take-out type thing. I can't control what type of oil a restaurant cooks with or if a sauce has corn starch in it, but I do at least make sure to TRY to have my good as paleo-friendly as possible (and always gluten-free).0 -
I'm trying to figure out meal planning too! I do so much better with a plan! I'm looking into some of those websites that do it for you for $10/month... anyone tried one of those?0
