Yeah, that screws me up too. You won't ever hear me say that I'm never eating [whatever high carb food] again! Personally, I have an occasional (like, once a month) eat-whatever-I-want day. I'm not saying that's the best solution for anyone else, but it helps keep me on track to look at it more like, "Oh, maybe I'll have that on my next EWIW day" rather than "I'm not ever allowed to have it again."

How long have you been doing keto? I'm sorry if you already told me and I forgot--my memory sucks!
I have occasional cravings...they're not so bad I can't talk myself out of them. PMS time is the worst! That's when I tend to do things like throw cream cheese, cream, sweetener and cocoa in the blender and make "pudding" lol.

I remember reading somewhere that when you're having a craving, to go do some other task for 10 minutes to get your mind off of it and by the time you're done your craving should have passed. It has worked for me!

"Not never again, but definitely not today." I agree that the never again thinking can be detrimental.

Here's another tip that has served me very well. I started off doing Atkins over 15 years ago and carried his book around with me like a bible. Besides his "Diet Revolution" he was also very big on supplements (VitaNutrient Solution is almost as helpful as his eating plan). One of his suggestions if you are staring down a craving is to take L-Glutamine (an amino acid), along w/ some form of fat (couple TBSP cream cheese, a fat bomb, etc.). I don't have my book to reference the theory or science behind it, but I have used the advice myself and after about 30 minutes, all is well in my keto-head again. :-)

I always tell myself that I can have what I'm craving, but later. I just have to accomplish a few goals first. It's not like I'm missing out on life experiences. I know what a doughnut tastes like. They're not going anywhere any time soon. They will always be available, even after I accomplish whatever goals I wanted to accomplish.
