Week #1, good. Week #2 didn't lose an ounce.

So I lost 7# the first week and nothing the second week. I am not devastated, not even disappointed. Just trying to tighten up things so that I see some progress. This is how my body behaved the only time I lost a significant amount of weight: lose big one week, no losses for several weeks.
I am going to cut out the processed meats (good-bye Trader Joe burgers!) and drink more water. Any other suggestions to get this train moving again My coach is not the greatest, didn't really have any suggestions.

I didn't have a great coach either. I decided after 4 weeks that I really didn't like her. After another month of struggling, I finally called Medifast and switched to Medifast Direct. You can also request a new coach. But that's not what you were asking about...
Here are some of the things that I suspect have affected my weight loss based on 3 months of being on program:
1) Water (I need at least 64 oz a day.)
2) Sleep (I need at least 7-8 hours a night.)
3) Carbs (I need to measure my veggies more accurately by using a scale (grams) versus using measuring cups.)
4) Hormones (During the week of and the week after my TOM, I slow tremendously.)
When in doubt, I refer back to my quick start guide from TSFL.0 -
My suggestion would be to drink, drink, drink that water.....I drink (2) 32 oz glasses of plain water than switch to a 32 oz glass of water with a crystal light to go packet in it. I can usually have all this in by 2:00 PM, then whatever I drink at night is just extra.
Also, I switched from eating dill pickles as my snack of choice to celery or a sugar free jello....thought maybe I was getting in too much salt. but hey, you are doing a great job, so don't give up! Your body will adjust like it should and the weight will fall off....trust me.....it will happen.0 -
Thanks for your suggestions. I woke up today and gained 4 lbs. Something is just wrong.0

Is that 4 lbs, or .4lbs? Also, was that overnight or are you weighing yourself once per week?0
-
It was four pounds. I usually weigh once a week on Mondays, but I was concerned so I stepped on my digital scale this morning. And its not TOM---I am past that stage of life.0

Ok I'm racking my brain trying to think of possibilities. So here's a dumb question, I know, but here goes...
Does your scale stay in one place or do you move it around? I have a digital scale (it is fairly new) and I can move it to 4 different spots in my bedroom and get 4 different readings. I don't know why this happens, but I think it's because I have hard wood floors and the floor is not level in some places. So I finally put it in a place where it doesn't need to be moved and I seem to have solved my big fluctuations.0 -
I'm struggling right now too. First week I lost 4.6. I just finished up week 3 and since that first 4.6lbs I've only lost .6
I know I don't get enough sleep, but I have two little ones so that's not changing anytime soon. I bought enough food for a 4 week plan, so I will continue until I'm done with the food. Then I will evaluate again. I do know that I need to get out and walk more because I have a desk job. And I could probably weigh/ measure my food more closely because sometimes i just do a guess.
Hang in there and see if another week or two will start to make a difference. Weight loss has always been a slow process for me. Gaining weight however is much quicker.0 -
Okay all, I am in week 6 and have lost almost 14 pounds. It took a while for it to get started, but I seem to be on a roll. My big struggle is weekends! I have a hard time turning down a glass of wine. I am also realizing how much I eat out--at least 5-6 times a week! And most of it is business related, so I cant whip out a bar or a shaker jar without people thinking I'm strange. So I will have my lean and green during the day and be hungry at night. Oh well, that soft brownie bake at the end of the night really helps a lot!0

Those have been my saving grace! I look forward to them and I love making into ice cream. SO GOOD! I also use them when we have cake at the office. I make a brownie and I don't feel as left out or tempted while everyone else eats cake. Congrats on your losses and keep chugging away. You'll make it!0
