I posted this in today's check in but didn't want it to get lost:
Hey gang, a while ago I started a discussion about post-weight loss skin surgery in Thailand, and I haven't pulled anything together yet. This prednisone taper is really knocking me off my feet--terrible pain that just leaves me completely exhausted and unfocused.

That said, here's my plan and what YOU can do. If you are interested, I'd like to submit some of our bios and posts to a few reality show producers to see if they are interested in following this group of strangers-turned-friends on their journeys to health and doing things they've only dreamed of doing (like zip lining!). My hope is that we'll get paid a little money for this and that the show will pay for our eventual skin removal surgery.

What can you do? If you're interested, let me know that it's okay to use your bio and posts. I will definitely edit for punctuation and grammar but not content. Once I have a packet, if you message me your email, Ill send you a PDF of what I 'm using. If you need names changed or content removed, you can let me know then.

If you're VERY interested, you should record a video of yourself telling your bio story. Post it to youtube a n d send me the link. I think that's the best way to handle video. I'm not computer savvy... maybe Rat or Heather can help out here?

Anyway, I'm setting a June 15 deadline, for myself to get this done. Are you in?

I am SO in if we could get a sponsor. My whole thing has been the money. I always thought I could handle the extra skin except my arms. They are already bugging me and my legs, ugh. They look terrible. I haven't lost enough to notice anywhere else. I know, you'd think 100lbs would be enough but I still have plenty o flab to keep that nice and inflated. My boobers have never been perky so I'm used to them.

Any way. Not sure what kind of story you'd want? Write yours first. :P I will be happy to help with any technical issues.

I'm going use to use what's posted on the welcome and introductions thread.

We share so many common struggles with sexual abuse, bullying, self loathing, unfulfilled potential... all incredible stories that an audience will love. I think the audience will root for us--happy to see us overcome our fears, learn self-love, do the things and be the people we are meant to be.

I'm in. Perhaps it will provide some serious motivation. If we haven't lost the weight yet is that a problem?

I have a lot to say, I haven't had the chance to go over it yet. Basically, a lady I work with was in a documentary recently where a group of her friends would meet and hang out because they were all super-sized. They did a documentary following several of them who had WLS and how it changed their lives and relationships. I was curious to see if that same production company would be interested or know someone who would be in following us? They would want to start now before we have lost the weight and follow our journey. Right now, the hot topic IS the excess skin. I do not know if y'all have seen the recent articles out lately, but it has kind of been a big deal about how everyone expects to lose weight and have everything be perfect, but it's not. Extreme weight loss often leaves so much excess baggage (skin) that those of us that have worked so hard to lose the weight, are left devastated to see the scars remaining of our former selves.

Anyway, it was just something I have been mulling over. It's a long shot, but it was something that has been on my mind. The documentary I was referring to was on PBS: All of Me: http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/all-of-me/

Here is a link about the Film maker and what made her decide to make the film: All of Me Filmmaker Alexandra Lescaze on the “Girls” of Austin

We could possibly even reach out to a few who have already lost a lot of weight already and get their perspective? Just some brainstorming thoughts I've had.

I would get together with Karen on this too as I know she is also putting out feelers. The more the better I think.

I have one guy who does documentaries interested in hearing about it. Emailing him today. Just preliminary ideas. Definitely going to be a group project if it ever comes about.
