What kind of exercise do you do?

I attend Yolates class twice a week for 50 minutes each. It is a combination of yoga and pilates. You might call it Standing Pilates. It works a lot on balance and core strength and leg muscles. I have taken various exercise classes over the years and this is my favorite.

I go to the gym twice a week for 50 minutes and do strength training with free weights, some cardio, and also some pilates exercises and flexibility exercises. I wish I could go on walks but my allergies have been very bad lately.

i mainly do yoga and walking outdoors. I started of learning yoga by taking classes (bikram) while living with my daughter but now I'm back home and there is no classes of bikram or hot yoga close to me so will just keep doing what i learned on my own and hope i have determination enough to keep doing it.

Plans are to add yoga by DVD maybe some dance DVD and maybe some Jillian Michaels. i also like to start with wights and this fall i plan to start with the community classes too. lots of plans lol but hey thats better then sitting planning to watch TV

Regularly - Hiking and walking, aquafit in the pool, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing. Occasionally - canoeing when my wrists and shoulders feel OK, cycling when my neck & low back feel OK, Alpine skiing when I have the time & energy. Gentle stretches every day - sometimes twice/day, although I have always been extremely flexible (sometimes to the point of joint issues) - I have to be careful with this one.

Hubby & I also like to dance when we get the chance (for a few hours - we don't sit down often, lol) to country (two step), trance/house, general rock tunes, jazz with a danceable rhythm.

Did P90X, P90X3, Chalean Xtreme, Cathe Friederichs (slow & heavy) and kettlebell workouts....Also HIIT on a spinning bike, running (in summer) - but running kills my joints lately... Walk every day during lunchtime when it's possible - 4km or so...Oh, and yoga to help with muscle recovery...

Right now, I am using my stationary bike. I also do power walks of about 5 miles. And I like Leslie Sansone's DVD's for when I cant leave the house. I gave up on strength training....I simply had zero motivation to keep it up. But I do cardio every other day...it works for me. :)

what an array of exercises! I do power walking too - 6 miles/90 minutes. I like to run but my knee has been bothering me lately - argh. Boot camp type of classes are fun. I find they are competitive and keep me going - a GREAT sweaty/cardio workout! I like to keep weights mixed in to, it helps to "co0mpact" the ol' body  haven't done yoga and pilates in quite awhile but would like to start back up. trying to torch calories right now by focusing on cardio.

LOL, I taught so many years of fitness classes (over 25 years - yes in headbands & legwarmers), I can't stand them anymore (except for aquafit) - I've always preferred my exercise (for me) to be more solitary. I really did like the solitariness of weights but my joints won't allow me to challenge my muscles enough that way right now. Maybe some day again. Did some zumba, because it's dance related but I'd rather do my own thing hahaha:tongue:

Wow, that made me tired just reading it, what an active bunch.

I am just able to start back at exercising so this last 5-6 weeks I have been doing progressively longer and faster walks - currently up to 61/2 miles in 90 minutes and I can feel the effects of it too.

Hoping to start back at the gym next week - Body Step, Zumba and I would like to start weights too but am somewhat cautious of that as my right shoulder dislocates and frankly it scares me. Watch this space though as I want to try it, and will is stronger than fear.

I walk several times a week and run a few kms a couple of times a week. I'll be doing a lot of cycling this summer; my goal is 1200 kms by the end of September. Through the winter I work out to DVDs, walk outside when the weather permits, snowshoe and fence.

I do it all and consider myself addicted.
I had been concentrating on more heavy lifting recently...but find myself back into the cardio kick. I still throw in the weight training....at my age I need it.

When I started here on MFP I considered 20 minute walk productive. I was always athletic growing up but I gave it up and became so sedentary. Part of that was due to my job..part just plain laziness.

I still have more weight to lose...but exercising DEFINITELY helped with my menopausal symptoms. Helped me sleep...helped with depression.
I'll never give it up. Even when the weight isn't coming off...I still exercise

Walk to and from the gym 3x a week (45 min avg 3.5 mph). Gym workout about 30-35 min. which is primarily lifting free weights, weight machines. Then walk anywhere from 40-60 min. 3.0-3.5 mph on other days. Usually give myself one day off a week. East coast swing dance once a week and Cuban or casino style salsa once a week.

With this much activity, makes me wonder why I am not losing weight. Oh, I know. I am eating too much!

Very impressive ladies!!! Exercise is my weak point I must admit. I find it difficult working 12 hour rotating shifts. Night shift is especially tiring to me now. I play catch up on my sleep, housework and shopping on my days off and cant seem to find time for exercise. We are changing work schedules in the future to a rotating 8 hour shift so I am really hoping to get more exercise in then. In the meanwhile I will just continue watching my calories and try to keep my sanity, lol!
