Checking In

Hello - I seem to be really motivated on Saturday and Sunday.

Then when I go back to work I start getting lazy and bored and I don't track and swim as much as I wanted to.

I will have to find a way to make my Monday through Friday fitness plans work.

I think I need to pre-track my food in the morning and make sure I leave the house for the pool by 5:30 am.

I'm sure you'll figure out a system that works for you. I find pre-logging my meals really helpful. On nights before I need to go in to work, I actually pre-log the night before and get everything prepped for easy packing in the morning.
  • Tracking the night before might work good for me too.
Thank you for the idea.

Yes, when I make lunch in advance to take to work I usually go ahead and log it when I pack it. Also, if I save leftovers from dinner to eat for dinner or lunch the next day I log it then so I'll know the size. I sometimes then kick it forward a time or two until I eat it, but since it's there and weighed it's easy to log.

I do sometimes do lunch or evening workouts, but I know they are much more likely to get pushed aside by other commitments or timing issues that come up, so for me getting into more of a morning workout schedule has been really handy. This is why weekends are easier for me too--because going to workout at 6 or 6:30 (or for you, 5:30, wow) is much harder than, say, doing it at 9:30 am, like I did this morning.
  • Checking in today. It is Sunday June 1st. I got my 30 minute swim in. I had to share a lane the whole time but at least I got to swim.

I think I am ready to start really counting my calories carefully and cut out the extra eating.

I really want to make this summer count and get going with what I want.

I don't want to 'punish' myself by making myself go back to WW. I want to do this my way.

Hello and thank you for inviting me to join your group. I will be your junior warrior and live vicariously through all your epic battles. I saw this on Facebook this morning:

Warriors are not born and they are not made.......Warriors create themselves through trial and error, pain and suffering, and their ability to conquer their own faults.............

OMG! I love that quote! That's so true... Welcome, Valerie! You do not need to live vicariously through our epic battles, because you can have your own! All you need to do is decide what number of calories you plan to burn in June and we'll support you to do that. You don't have to do something that feels unachievable. A war is won by winning many small battles;)

Stephanie & Jane, I so admire your ability to wake up early to work out. I think that would be a wonderful practice, but am not a morning person. 7am is about as early as I can stir, comfortably. And, it takes me until about 9am to feel like moving quickly:)
