Question about run time?

Hello all! I just completed week 7 and ran 3.8 km in the 25 minute interval. Assuming I did the math correctly, that puts me on track to complete 5 km in about 33 minutes. Up until 7 weeks ago I'd never run before and was wondering if this is a decent run time?

Based on my experience with C25K and what I've heard others say, it's an excellent pace. The point of C25K is to increase your endurance. You should be focusing on the amount of time running. At this level, speed will increase as you increase your endurance.0 -

Thanks! My endurance has greatly increased for sure, but I was just curious to see if I was on track. This was the first time since I began C25K that I actually recorded my distance. I guess I'm doing alright.0 -
That's a great time. I graduated C25K about a year and a half ago and I still can't run 5K in 33 minutes. I'm getting closer to that time but it'll be awhile yet before I'm there.
Your time is great!0 -
Here is a link to the results of one 5K last year. There were aver 500 runners so you can see where your time might fall in perspective.
I am just starting C25K myself and hope to just finish without having to stop. I am not worried about speed at this point; just building up endurance. But to answer your question, maybe this results page will give you perspective. Sounds like you are doing very well!

That's an excellent pace. My fastest 5k time is 40.96, it was my second one and beat my first by 1.04 (on my own, not races). I'm still really only comfortable with about 25-30 minutes of running, which is about 4k.0
