Didn't get around to writing yesterday as I had another lazy day and probably the first day in I don't know how long that I didn't even turn on my computer.
I'm off for two weeks now. I should at least get in a lot of walking/hiking during my vacation and will try to stay on track with my eating. After I get back, I'll start a new routine and my goal will be to have an average weight loss of 0.5 kg a week cause that would get me to roughly my goal until I go see the family for Christmas
Hope you all have a great time and I'll see (read) everyone in July! :drinker:0 -
Enjoy your vacation Ines! Looking forward to hearing about it when you get back.
Today's threadstarter was appropriate for my run today. Forecast is for rain all weekend, so I got out early while the showers were still scattered (storm front is just moving in so it will keep getting worse as the day goes on). Was out on the road as soon as it was light out. It was cold, windy, and I got rained on a couple of times, but I knocked 3:17 off my prior best 10K time. Was focused on negative splits and got them every mile (I was supposed to run 6 miles but when I saw how far ahead of my prior best 10K pace I was I ran an extra 0.2 miles to get to 10K). The "feels like" temp was 38F / 3C -- air temp 45F / 7C with a cold wind which I was running into the second half of the run, so I was particularly happy with my negative splits considering. I had on shorts and a long sleeve tech shirt, which was not quite warm enough for the conditions.0 -
Have a good one Ines!
Donna, I need to get in on some of these fun runs using the sponsor's shoes! Sound awesome! I know Adidas Boost does these here, but I always seem to miss them. Thinking I might want to get some Boost shoes anyway. Maybe I'll pickup a pair in US (since it is VERY hard to find my size here--my feet are bigger than standard Greek size because I'm so much taller than most Greek women--it's a pain sometimes).
Laura, way to go!!!! That is a huge improvement! I wish we could somehow average out your weather with my weather. It was hot today. It says 88, but feels like the surface of the Sun (well maybe only if you're running at high noon, like an idiot--which is what I did today! lol)
Today I woke up with a splitting headache that I had felt all night as I slept (aren't those the worst!). There's a kid birthday party this evening, so I knew I had to just go ahead and get my exercise over with, so I set out just after noon, in the heat & sun, and ran down to the beach/marina. When I got there and finally got something to drink (my water had gone hot), I downed an entire Powerade and felt AWFUL. So I set out walking home and did that for awhile (even stopping for another drink) until I was almost home and my belly felt a little better and I got bored of walking and I ran a tiny little bit more. That's it. I got a crazy weird tan with my tank top and two different sports bra straps, plus the crooks of my arms were untanned from bending my arms running. haha, what a crazy tan!
We've got my brother-in-law arriving later this week and we prepare to leave in about a week. Guess things might start to get a little crazy around here.
Well, have a great Saturday!0 -
Todays post is funny since I was going to wuss out over the weather yesterday!! lol
I ended up going for a walk before work as boss was late.
Today I went to my Nia class.
Work later today then boss is having annual luau and invited husband and me. Wish weather was warmer but like the post says if you wait for perfect conditions might never happen!0 -
Sherry I've got those tan lines in the crooks of my elbows too! Was just showing someone how I have a little white triangle at the elbow that isn't as tan as the rest of my arms. She suggested I run with my arms straight. Needless to say, she isn't a runner.0

Long day today!
I must have been confused about the date for the fun run and shoe try out at the running store because when I got there it was closed and it was clear that nothing was going on today. So, since I was there, I just ran around Annapolis for a bit. It seemed that I was among hundreds of runners! Everyone going every which way, all over the historic area there. It was a beautiful day. I got about 3 to 3.5 miles in of running and another few miles of walking. Then I went back to the store and bought a hydration belt that puts a bottle at the small of the back and a 13.1 magnet. I don't like the belts with multiple small bottles on the sides and I don't like the handheld bottles. I'm doing a lot of 4 or so mile runs and they can be hard on Fells, so I want to make sure that I'm carrying water. I still won't run with him when it's over 75F, but since we're faster and going longer than last summer, I want to be prepared to offer him water halfway through the runs. As far as the magnet ... I asked the girl at the store if she would count a virtual half and she said that if my feet were on the ground and did the miles, it counts. So I put the magnet on my car.
Hope the headache is better now, Sherry!0 -
Oh I forgot to finish my post last night. I also did a slightly shorter than 3 mile run in the evening with Fells. I needed to get my mileage in and I won't be able to do too much running today, Sunday.0
