Hi everyone!
I went for a 3 mile walk yesterday (just under 5K). Wasn't really in the mood and it took me nearly an hour so I wasn't going blazing fast either, but I got it done anyway. I just had way too much going on this weekend (wedding reception Friday, family dinner Saturday, church & confirmation party Sunday) and was on total people-overload by yesterday. I enjoyed catching up with a bunch of people I don't get to see very often, but it was just way too much in one weekend for this introvert.
I've got my trainer tonight. It will be a light workout.0 -
Hey Laura, I know how you feel. I love to be with my family and friends and I love going home and getting away from them too. Glad you got the walk in. Light days are needed.
I went to a K9 nosework test yesterday. It was the highest level (NW3) and I was mainly going to get some experience as it's a hard jump from nosework 2 where the dogs and I have been, to nosework 3. I really wished that Colin had been the one to get into the test as he's my more experienced dog. Despite my belief, Fells qualified! On his first test! I was stunned!
It was a long day and by the end I was really hot and tired. I thought about getting out and doing some running at 10 pm, but really just wanted to go to bed. So I did.
We have 6 more miles needed to get to 22 miles for the week. My week is running Tuesday through Monday, and since I was sick last Tuesday and Wednesday, I fell behind. Then, of course, not running yesterday didn't help. So I got 4 miles in on Thursday, 6 on Friday, 6 on Saturday, and now I need 6 again today. This whole week is supposed to be hot with temps dipping to the low 70's at night and into the 90s during the day, but this morning we hadn't started it yet, so it was in the 60s. Fells and I got up and out and got 4 miles in before work. So two more tonight and the week is successfully completed.
I've been neglecting my strength work, so this week I'll need to make sure that I get some bodyweight work in. It's going to be tough to exercise next weekend because of a flyball tournament, so we'll see what I can get in before that. I'm going to have to do some early rising all week I think.0 -
Hi all! Lots of good activity goin' on!
Today I had a couple hours in the afternoon, while Dh would rest at home with the kids. I started off walking but got bored of it and ran. I ran to the beach neighborhood and then picked a shady street to walk crossways, then crossed over the highway to go through the marina, then started back and started running again (verrrry slowly--it was uphill), then switched to walking again right as I hit my neighborhood. Was out about 3 hours and probably covered about 8-10miles (not entirely sure). I altered my pace alot based on my heart rate today and I felt much better at the end of it. It was a beautiful day and I just did whatever I felt like doing. I'm expecting t.o.m. soon and also need to hit the gym plenty this week, so I *might* not get to run again before we fly to US on Sunday. Once there, idk when I'll get to run or hit a gym again. I'm glad I made the most of today.
Have a great start to the week!0 -
A good Monday! After a rather slow weekend (at least I got to run around with the horses for a bit, but then it got weird with a cat rescue, a concert, and a sick mother-in-law -- don't ask!!!) it felt great to do the strength routine today, and then some good abs work and a nice outdoor garden and walking about time. Ahhh. Intervals tomorrow! Hoping to do them on the bike outside - enough of this indoor stuff! Summer is finally here.0

Good Evening, better late than never!
Ran 5K this afternoon just before supper. It was very windy on my way back, so I suffered with heat going out and with wind returning. lol Actually, it was not "that" bad, and was happy to get it done. Had a great supper tonight of fresh haddock pan fried with brown rice and green beans. Love it when we get fresh haddock.0
