New with a few questions!

Sorry if these have been answered time after time.

I'm Jewel, 27, and have two kids (6 and 1) and really am looking to just shed about 30 lbs then stick with the paleo style eating habits.

This is day three for me and before I tried keto and stayed with it for a month and dropped 10 lbs. I wanted a different approach so am attempting to improve my diet with paleo.

Wine? I love dry red wine and usually have 2 glasses a week. Should I cut this out. I read it was okay from time to time.
Lean or Fatty Meat? Does it matter?
Bacon? Is this like keto where I can munch on lots of bacon and bacon grease?
Carbs? I am confused by this part. What carbs can I eat as keto seemed to be no carbs at all. Where paleo is saying no necessary low carb.

I think this is all for now.. that I can think of. Thanks in advance for any answers.

(Also thank you MFP for very awkwardly cropping my photo for me on the forums.)

If you are already in the Paleo groove I would say all these questions can be answered by your own body by doing a 30 day reset. Most of these like the wine and bacon will be restricted for that period and when you reintroduce these foods you can determine if they are something you can live with.

If you are getting pasture raised animal products, fat is great, if you can't stay away from their fats as they carry a lot of the bad aspects of the foods fed to them in the fat.

As for carbs, lots of green leafy stuff is essential in my opinion, yes you logistically do not need carbs but I would think your life would be better off with them unless you are an Eskimo. I always eat them and weight has been no problem going away.

Okay, I see. The whole reset thing without bacon is my body suppose to do something weird while eating bacon? I wasn't aware of anything like reactions.

I think the reason they ask you to put it aside is because it almost always has sugar in it and on a reset sugar is out
