Hello everyone, my name is Monica.Iam 44 years old from just outside of Philadelphia Pa, I live with my wonderful husband and have 2 kids and 2 grandkids. I started my journey 20 days ago today and as most of you know it was a easy chose to start and even pretty easy to stick with so far but lke alot of you the scale is already depressing. I developed a rare disorder that kept me immobile for 2 years and I gained ALOT of weight. Iam doing so much better now and my desire for good health and some self esteem is on fire. Iam still at the learning stage of what to eat how to exercise and all the lovely things one has to learn for success but I know I will get there and my goal is around 60-70 pounds gone in a year, I want to run my 1st mud race (5k) next May with my daughter, sister and neice. Thank you for listening to my story and please please please add me so we can help eachother on our journey.

Welcome to MFP, and at a glance looks like you are off to a great start with 9 lbs down. There are a lot of supportive people on here all the time and a good number of us are runners. Stick with it and no doubt you will do great at the mud run, sounds like you will have a good support team going through it with you. Feel free to add me if you like.0

I agree that it's easy to get defeated. Don't!!!! Instead of focusing on the number on the scale try focusing on something else...like being able to do a 5K without becoming winded or tired. While I am looking at my weight for the challenge, I know I will be happy when I reach the size of clothes I want. You can do it!!! We are all here to support and cheer you on.0
