Hi,
Starting next week I'll be on a month long fast(5 AM till 6 PM), since it's Ramadan. I'll be finding it hard to hit the gym during this period of time. Food intake also would be reduced considerably so to speak. As I'm currently cutting, my daily caloric intake is about 1600 cals which I shall continue to achieve.
My workout revolves around 5*5, currently I Squat 240 lbs, Bench 175 lbs, DL 330 lbs, quiet pleased with that as I've got leaner & gained strength with BF reduced to about 19% from 25%.
So my question is, is it OK if I do 'Calisthenics' for a month? Basically 100+ reps of squats, push & pull ups etc!!
I'm aware that I'll lose some strength over this period of time!
Aesthetically how would my body react? Would I look out of shape if I follow Calisthenics for a month?
Thanks

I would suspect that you'll lose strength, possibly lose some LBM, and then gain it back relatively quickly when you resume training.
Alternatively you could consider reducing training volume, and possibly reduce to 2xweek frequency, and stop attempting to add weight to the bar and see what happens when you attempt this training schedule during your fast.
Example would be doing 3x5 on the main movements instead of 5x5 and keep the load static to attempt to maintain strength.0 -
Just out of curiosity, why are you switching from weight lifting to calisthenics during ramadan? (or did I misunderstood something there?). Last year I continued weight lifting while fasting and didn't faced many challenged. Of course it would depend on your location but after Isha I was able to lift without any issues and actually lost 5 lbs.0

I'm mainly concerned that I might lose interest to workout after Isha as I'd be tired. Whereas, I might squeeze sometime after breaking the fast for calisthenics !! Does it really matter if I do calisthenics/lifting for losing fat? Thanks!0
