I'm new to these groups, but I decided I need to connect and have some accountably for my eating habits! I've been doing great but the last few days I've been "cheating". I'm trying to not diet, but stay healthy and not binge eat and make bad choices constantly. I also started pilates today, I am so excited! I have been eating a non-strict paleo style diet. Still eating some dairy and carbs. The last few days I've had corn tortillas and a little bread but I want to go back to fruit as my carbs! I am trying to lose 5 pounds of "going back to the workforce/office job new mom weight.. Any advice or motivating tips? Anything paleo or pilates I am interested in. Also and feedback on results and what has worked best in the past!

Welcome to the group!!! If I learned anything during my fitness journey is that nutrition is THE KEY to results. You can workout all you want but if your nutrition is off, the results won't be the same. What works for me is eating small portions around 5 times a day and balance it out between protein, healthy carbs fruits and veggies. I feel like when I completely cut something out of my diet, I begin to crave it and that's when I fall of track. Of course, it is an everyday struggle to keep myself on track with food, but if I am good at least 80 - 90% of the time, it works! Don't' beat yourself up because you ate bad for the last few days. What's important is that you get back on track and move forward. I found that the nutrition plan from my last program that I did (21 days fix) worked the best for me. They had separate containers and if certain food fit in, then you can eat it. It was super easy to follow and very effective. So now I just try to stick to that plan more or less and it has worked great. As far as motivation, what works for me is to practice it daily!!! I like to connect with other people like me so we can keep each other accountable. It motivates me to motivate others and also keeps me accountable. It is a lot less likely I will skip a workout if I know there is a group of people counting on me!!! Congratulation on starting Pilates!! Do you usually work out at the gym or do you like to do workout DVDs at home?0

Hi Polina.. How long did it take for you to reach your ideal weight and stats..0

I've been on MFP for 1 week now. And every day I have been careful to eat below my daily calorie count and to exercise. But today I went to the doctor and I weighed in 4lbs heavier than a week ago. I'm so disappointed. Does anyone have any words of encouragement for me?0

It is actually ongoing struggle!! But initially when I start after pregnancy, it took me around 3-4 month to lost about 40lbs. I have gained A LOT after my last baby. I did Insanity and it was really the deal breaker for me! Ever since then I try to maintain the weight.. sometimes I get off track, but I make sure to get back on and keep it going!! What are your weight loss goals? I will be happy to help you get on the right path!0

Don't get discouraged! Weight loss is never a straight line down.. it is more likes waves all the way. As long as you stay consistent do work on it every day, you will see results. What kind of workouts are you doing now?0

Thanks Polina...
I was 48kg before marriage.. though I always thrived for 45-46.. There were instances when I touched 47kg.
Anyhow.. 50kg when my strip showed pink.. ;-) was close to 70kg on my 9 month.
I lost 10 kg in 3-4 months post delivery.. am at 60kg ever since. My baby is now 18 month old.
Recently started running and strength training ( 3 weeks approx).. managed to loose just 0.75 kg.
My target/dream is same as before 45-46kg.. really toned. am short 5.1'.0 -
@FightingFitMom - I think what is important is find your soul workout and what you truly enjoy, but also make sure it is effective. Some people love cardio, others love weights, some love yoga - but the key is right combination of all these excercises. I know that running on a treadmill or elliptical has not worked well in the past. I only take classes at the gym and mostly workout at home. Ever since my last baby, working out at home was most convenient and luckily I found programs that gave me really good results. It is still a struggle to constantly be on track so I try to keep myself motivated. What kind of workouts do you like to do?
P.S. Congratulations on you baby!!!0 -
Thanks..
Well my interest changes.. only thing I hate is staircase.. Rest all I enjoy..
Earlier I used to LOVE power yoga followed by Swimming. Theres no good pool near my place, closet once is 3-4 miles far... dont have time for that..
I sometimes do Aerobics and Zumba in my gym which I REEEALLLY enjoy BUT can't make it often cause batch timing do not suit my schedule.
Only time I get to workout is post 10 pm and early 5.30-7.00am. I am doing C25k, Strength since 2 weeks.. Started shred last night.. Planning biking on weekends too.. lol0
