Reduction of THREE POUNDS?!?! That's it this week?!?! REALLY?!??!?! I was such a great gal over the weekend. Friday night, I stayed with salad, grilled chicken and ended with no dressing. Water. Saturday Night I WAS DRY!!! and I only had steak fajitas...no fried stuff. SUnday we ended up having a pool party and again, ate extra lean hamburgers. I stayed on program.
Sunday you ladies would've been proud of me!! I got up at 630, hiked almost three miles, hit the grocery store for pool party fare, came home and grilled the chicken for lunches this week and prepared the salads as well as grilled the veggies for dinners. BEFORE preparing the party food. I knew I'd be too tired. And now I'm only seeing 3lbs? I will admit that is frustrating when I've behaved so well!!!
Ah well. Waiting for response from the diet coach...lol.
This morning I had therapy and squeezed in a 2 mile hike before heading into the office. Hoping my friend will still hike with me tonight (temps are to be 105+ when we hit the trail).
Looking forward to seeing how everyone else is doing.
Sarah - hoping you and hubby are getting better.

Right now, I would kill for a 3 pounds in one week loss Lois! You are doing great, and I'm proud of you. Thinking ahead and spending the time to grill chicken and vegetables isn't that easy.
My eye is still acting up some, but I'm coping. Hubby's neck is hurting today, but sometimes after an epidural, that happens. He'll feel better the first day or two, then have a couple of bad days, and then get better again. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Worked until 6:30 tonight and now have to scramble to get in some activity and figure out what dinner will be. Will check in again soon.0 -
I don't mean to sound ungrateful....but I've worked really hard. I am at the super excess weight, so I am hoping to have a couple of weeks of great reductions. Fingers are crossed.
I did get in a short (mile plus) hike this evening - it was too HOT to go much longer. I also attend the Warrior Xfit at the taekwondo studio . Super sweaty and a bit stinky!
Sarah, it's easy to grill the chicken etc if you don't mind eating the same thing every day. Hubby doesn't mind so that makes my life that much easier. His idea of cooking is fast food or chips.0 -
Well, I still think you're a rock star for shedding three pounds in a week. That's hard for us shorties! :-)
I don't mind eating the same thing over and over, but hubby does! I'm grateful he does not eat much fast food, but his cooking obsession makes it harder for me to control what I eat. I swear, the man channels Julia Child, and if I'm not around to tell him to "put the butter down," I'm in trouble.
We did grilled chicken two nights ago, however, and this time I channeled someone--my ex father-in-law who made a tasty, low calorie eastern Carolina bar-b-que sauce (low calorie because it's predominantly vinegar and spices). Hubby loved it, so that's going on the menu a lot this summer.0 -
Hey all!
Lois, I also think 3 pounds in a week is fantastic! The first week or so of a new program includes a lot of water loss, so now you're getting into the fat loss. Think of what 3 pounds of fat looks like. I'm proud of you.
Sarah, I hope your husband feels better soon. And, the bar-b-que sauce sounds good . . .share recipe when you can.
I'm frustrated, but I know my intensity hasn't been there of late, and my diet is just so so.

No change. So, I'm off to the TM as it's too hot outside today. (Lois, I hate the heat. You are so brave to face it!)0 -
well, it's Wed, so I guess I should check in. Life has been totally overwhelming and I'm just trying to put one foot in front of the other. Lois, 3 lbs in a week is great. Sarah, sorry to hear your eye is bothering you. Sorry not to respond to other things but really haven't had time to go thru the threads.
Will keep it short:

Too much stress, too much eating out when out of state celebrating Mom's birthday, too little activity. It all adds up. Time to start subtracting...0 -
So happy to see everyone's comments!! Welcome back Light!!! We've missed you.
Ok..so last night my trainer did my body comp and measurements. Some enlightening informaiton for me....I'm trying to see how to attach and post but I can't figure it out.
SInce 5/3
BF reduction .7%
8lb reduction:
4lbs fat gone
4lbs lean muscle gone =((
We're going to remeasure in two weeks to ensure I don't lose too much lean muscle. ALSO, I had a dexa body scan at the radiologists this morning (same machine that does bone density). My center charged $49 for the scan, but it did require an RX from my dr. (always willing to entertain me I guess). I should have that report by Monday. Hoping it's close to the Body MEtrex readings from my trainer. But that's something you may/may not want to think about. I find it fascinating to see the muscle/fat conversions and it encourages me to push harder and through when I don't want to do anything.
GIve me a few to see if I can figure out how to post the measurements.. I'm pretty excited.0
