Questions!

Hello,
Keto is a completely new diet to me. I have never even heard of it! BUT that being said, I would really like more information about it. About 2 years ago I did the Atkins diet and lot about 20 lbs. Since then, I have had a baby and gained even more weight than I initially started with when I started the Atkins 2 years ago. In addition to being overweight, I work in an office 8 hours a day, and it is very difficult for me to have time to exercise. (During the day that is) On the plus side, I own a horse and love horseback riding. I feel as though that gets me motivated to go ride, but at the same time, I need to lose weight because riding isn't exactly the best way to lose weight. I do have some exercising ideas, but the biggest problem for me is food. When I was on the Atkins, I felt like I cut out so many foods. I cut bread completely out of my diet, along with milk and most fruits. My diet pretty much consisted of meats (not fried), strawberries (since they are low carb), eggs, and green vegetables. Is the Keto similar to the Atkins as far as carbs because I have read I couple of posts about the 20 carb limit and I know that's how many I ate when on the Atkins.

The questions are:
What foods CAN you eat on the diet and what foods are NOT to be eaten (if any)?
What kind of exercise plans were most effective while on this diet?
How long does it take before you see results?
What is the easiest way to start this diet as far as gradually changing eating habits versus jumping in with both feet?

    1) I found a plethora of information here: http://www.ruled.me/keto-diet/keto-diet-info/ Thou I still have many more questions...

    2) Personally I have a YMCA membership and I have time after work so I work out at high intensity at least 2 hours a day. I also work in an office but in my breaks I go walk up and down our garage at a fast pace (5 split levels+ basement)

3)Personally I saw results in the second day (I started Monday and Tuesday I was 1 lb lighter, now I am 5!!!!) --> I am taking 1 tablespoom of MCT oil before workout and 3-4 spoons of coconut oil throughout the day --> maybe those are speeding out the process)

4)Jumping in is the easiest way! Forget the bread and white flour!!! LOL... have your carbs counted and from veggies only - oh and see that a small to medium strawberry has 1 carb! I found that is A LOT!!!! There are lists that can help you plan your meals and on the site I cited above they have some good recipes....

    Good Luck!
