Fitness Challenge Brainstorm

I want to hear from you guys about some challenges you want to see (and are eager to crush and encourage others to do the same!)

- Do you want to see who can squeeze several miles of walking/running into a week?
- Do you want to lit X weight?
- Do you have some crazy 20 minute workout that you want to see others try and feel great about?

Whatever it might be, we want to hear about it. Who knows? Your challenge could be the next challenge picked!

  • Ohhhhh, I'd love to see a pedometer challenge. What are we really doing on a daily basis with our movements?

Sometimes we're not seeing any results on the scale, but we're not getting off the couch very often either! There's also some of us who may not have extra cash laying around for the awesome gym down the street or to join the local Y, and so we utilize this as an excuse as to why we cannot loose weight.

As some of you may have seen in my posts, I think every opportunity is an opportunity to shed some pounds, and what better way than to show that by proving that basic movements that are required on a daily basis (which is simply moving from point A to point B), can aid in that weigh in we having coming up at the end of the week.

The challenge can motivate those who aren't moving as much to get up and do so, and those of us who already are in the gym can find more creative ways to get in extra "steppage" (How many extra steps can I get out of cleaning my house twice this week? Not only could you win the challenge, but a squeaky clean house also provides a healthier and more relaxing atmosphere!).

    Any other ideas?
  • I like the pedometer challenge....if only I could find my tiny little FitBit.

How about a calories burned challenge or steps per day?

I have a FB accountability group and I post a different workout everyday for them to complete.. the workouts are usually short but they are not easy! I could do something like that here as well. I believe you have to push yourself out of your comfort zone to get results.

Can anyone recommend a good, simple, free pedometer app? I have an Android phone. I tried one yesterday called "walkdroid" and I found it a bit tricky to use.

That would be fabulous and most welcome!

Yes. Yes I do. I love those and I joined a bunch of groups for it. :)
