I feel that this program has really increased my energy and motivation, leaving me antsy on off days wishing I could go for a run. What do you guys do for cross training on off days?

When I was doing C25K I generally swam, now I row or road bike generally, sometimes mountain bike. I do a bit of resistance training as well, but that gets really boring.0

Weights, kettlebells, biking, rowing machine, aerobics..... whatever I like that isn't running. I hike sometimes at the weekend too0

I was nursing a shoulder injury so no cross training with strength. I just did one hour Zumba sessions. But I didn't star it new. I had started Zumba 7-8 months before c25k and was doing 5 sessions a week when I started the program. So I just cut Zumba to 2-3 times and added c25k. I've heard swimming is the best cross training exercise( I don't know to swim). Yoga is supposed to be good. Biking is good too. Strength training is the best. Strength with yoga/Pilates on off days for strength + stretching will be one good combination. I wish I had started strength then. It has a lot of benefits. You become a stronger runner.0

On my off days I normally do a long walk with my dog and focus on strength training.0

When I was doing C25K I was walking or doing strength for my XT options. Now it is really whatever I feel like doing. Usually it is a class of some sort at the gym...such as water aerobics (I will lap swim as well though), spinning, trekking using the ellipticals, etc...0

I know how you feel! Since starting this program (well, not since starting ... maybe since week 4 or so lol) I have had so much energy and wish I could run every day! So far I've been just doing light walking with the kids on my days off (to the farm stand down the road or around the block) but I think now that I am going into week 6 I am going to start week 1 of C25K with my 8 year old and keep her at week 1 for awhile. It will be good for her to start acclimating her to running which is what she wants and it will be a light workout for me.0
