calorie confusion!

Hi people :)

Just looking for some advice (my first post so bear with me!);
On week 2 of insanity, and although I'm really enjoying it (as wierd as it may sound) after reading through a few threads I was a bit worried about my caloric intake: I'm currently 90kg, 5 ft 11" and with the goal of losing (a lot of) weight. The insanity calculation said I should be consuming around 1900 calories a day, but me being me thought I could accelerate the process by doing 1280 (MFP calculation) .. Is this going to be a problem?
I'm not following the insanity meal plans per se, but am being strict and clean with my diet (as you can probably see with my MFP). Any advice/info would be hugely appreciated, especially as I'm a bit new to this.

I should add that after a week I don't feel worse off with my current caloric intake (maybe because I'm fasting aswell), but if eating more would get me to my goal faster I'd be more than happy to try it!

    I'm interested to know about this also. I am just following insanity from youtube, so I don't have the meal plan, etc. I'm just eating 1400-ish calories on MFP. I will sometimes eat more though if my stomach is rumbling and I also eat back the exercise calories. So I end up eating about 1600 a day.

    I'm interested to know when and how you are fasting. I wouldn't do Insanity while fasting - your effort will be reduced and you won't get the same benefits. I've done Insanity on an empty stomach and 2-3 hours after a meal, and I can tell you I worked much harder with proper fuel on board.

    As for your, calorie goals, I can only speak from experience. For myself, Insanity makes me feel amazing - like an upgraded version of myself. I wouldn't want to sacrifice that for a little impatience over weight loss. I started Insanity a year ago, and my 1lb/week weight loss throughout 2 rounds of Insanity has not reappeared. I've knocked 20% of my running PBs, and completed my first marathon. Would I have achieved that by combining Insanity with a crash diet? I doubt it.

    If you stick with Insanity's figure of 1900, you'll drop at least 1lb/week. but that's not the whole story, as your body composition will be improving, too. If you're set on more dramatic weight loss, I would recommend that you properly fuel your workouts, and then try to eke out your remaining calories over the rest of the day.
