Laura, I love that pic! Thanks for posting.
Okay, so weighed myself today and am up 2.5 from pre-trip weight. I’m hoping some of it is water since I usually eat a pretty low-sodium diet and while I was gone it was salt city. Trying not to feel bad because I KNOW it could have been much, much worse. Starting Over Yet Again is my freaking life story…
Yesterday I said no to the three (!?!?) cakes at work and my hubs brought home our toddler's leftover birthday cupcakes (he's 3!) from school—I said no to those too and brought them into work today. I try to avoid added sugars as much as I can.
Still jet-lagged and haven’t worked out in a few days, I feel sluggish and will try to get a walk or two in today. It’s crazy hot & humid so it might have to wait until after work when I can hop on the treadmill.
Here’s how I am doing with my goals:
Check: Prepare healthy meals & snacks in advance so it’s EASY to make healthy choices
Check: Guzzle loads of water
Not yesterday: Reach my 8k step goal EVERY day
Check: No fast food
Check plus: Eat 5 fruits/veggies a day0 -
April that's a lot of cake temptation to avoid! Nice job. That 2.5 pounds will be gone in no time if you get back to your normal good habits. Great job hitting or exceeding most of your goals yesterday.
I saw that pic last night and it spoke directly to me. The past week has not been good for eating. Yesterday I finally had a really good food day so I just need to get myself back on track. I'm not eating junk food - I'm just eating too much. I can't have peanut butter in the house because I'll eat 3-4 spoonfuls which ends up being hundreds and hundreds of calories. And that's just a snack.
I need to run today. My alarm went off this morning and I decided I needed 2 hours of sleep more than I needed to run. I brought my clothes into work in case I felt like running on my lunch break (we newly expanded our office & have a shower now) but a friend hit me up to walk, so I'll walk with her and run tonight. I think I might stop at my sister's house and run from there. There's a really good hill about a mile from her house so I could get in some hill repeats. My trainer still has me on my "unstructured" running schedule as part of my post-HR recovery, but he didn't say I couldn't do hill repeats or speed intervals as part of that.0 -
Great picture. It's true... working out certainly puts eating certain items in perspective. I never drink soda anymore.... it's just not worth the 160 or so calories!
I'm working hard to get more fruits/veggies in my diet. I still struggle with that!
Have a great day!0 -
Lower body this morning. Rest of the day spent with cousin babies play date, then rainstorm during dinner.
Looks like rain for a few days, so just the gym, no running, til it passes.0 -
Did my run to trainer workout and back tonight. Have been doing fine in regard to food for the past two days. Which is good because I really need to make up for the weekend!
Stay strong all with all the seasonal temptations!0
