I wish I had someone to let me know how I could get the optimal results in my Insanity program when I first started. I have gained some knowledge of what works best so that you can give each workout your all.
1) Eat 1 small meal an hour before you workout. Make sure you eat something light to fuel your body an hour before you workout. I usually eat some cottage chesse or a fiber bar.
2) Get atleast 8 hours of sleep. You need plenty of rest to have enough energy to complete the workouts
3) Drinks 8 glasses of water day.Keep a glass of water next you while you workout. You easily go through 3 glasses before your workout is over
4)Have recovery drink or shakeology during or after your workout. You need to replenish your body of all of the vitamins and nutrients your body burns when you workout.
5)Go at your own pace. Dont be to hard on yourself if you can make it through a complete circuit. Week by week you will progress just dont give up

6. Be very careful about form - better do it slowly but properly than quickly and sloppily.0

Great point that I missed form is very important0

what's a good recovery option that doesn't cost a lot… i can't afford shakeology or anything like that0

I don't drink any recovery drink - I simply have dinner after my workouts and try to include a bit of everything in it... it's hard...
But I think a fruit smoothie or a peanut butter sandwich will do the trick. Or the very popular low fat chocolate milk.0
