Fats: We are all thinking about it...

So in this program, it calls for fats to be about 20% of your daily diet. There are different kinds of fats, from animal and plant sources. Our body creates fat when it eats too much food (hence, that is why you hear it is easier to gain than to lose; If carbs go in as 4 calories per gram, and fat gets stored as 9 calories per gram, you have to work twice as hard to lose it!).

So, in case anyone needs help in deciding what fats to eat, here is a good article from the Mayo Clinic, a research hospital, that explains what the different types of fat are and how they work for your body:

Honestly, if you eat meat, you will have to usually pay more to get the meat with less fat. And, if you cannot afford the higher-priced meats, here is a good article on how to eliminate saturated fat from the meat:

Hope those two articles help you. Check those Wednesday ads for produce! It is the best way to score some good fruits and veggies, like Avocados! The first step to a great physique is to eat right! Yes, when its all said and done, we may not save a ton compared to just eating at Subway when we add in energy used to transport, store, and cook the food, but every fast food place is filled with two things: Sodium and Fat. Yes, even Subway. Just remember that next time you go shopping. You are going to spend the money anyways....why not make the healthier choices?
