Good morning!
It's Thursday already??? Where did the week go?
Here's a topic--what will you do today to make the most of the day? One of my Facebook friends issued a 24-hour "no complaints" challenge. That means for an entire day, we can't utter a single complaint. Imagine what that's like? I think I'll try it today! Carly, that means you can't end your posts with :SIGH: today!
I'm off to see my rheumatologist this morning, then attacking my filing pile, then making a big salad, then taking a long swim. Carpe Thursdayum.

I am thinking maybe mini golf today and some badminton. I have left overs from yesterday so I do not have to do any cooking which is great. My men were so excited yesterday at dinner time. I served white rice lol. We have not had white rice in a long long time, 18 months at least. Dean is not really a fan of the brown but will eat it when I make it with something that is saucy. It was like a treat to get white rice lol.
My scales are not indicating anything pleasant this week so far I can only hope that the pounds that are showing added will come off along with one extra pound over night in some miraculous event that does not disturb my sleep. Anyone watch Doctor Who? There was an episode with David tennant and Donna where people take a pill and their fat just walks away. It literally turned into a little ball of animated fat each night and popped off people in their sleep and walked away to be collected. Someone needs to invent that pill.0 -
I want THAT pill!
No complaining? :noway:
I had a great day yesterday and it continued into last night. A friend picked me up and we went out for a couple drinky drinks. :drinker: Just a couple, nothing too crazy.
Pic from our night out....you can see I got my happy on.
Woke up feeling the best I've felt in over a week! Yahoo! Back to bidness for this lady.
Have a great day y'all!0 -
I so wish Adipose was real! I'd take it voluntarily (as long as they were happy with my Fat babies and didn't decide to make me into all Fat babies like in that episode lol).0

Excited and nervous about joining a 17 week challenge. I didn't have the best luck with my last one as I became hyperfocused on that weigh in day (almost to the complete exclusion of other healthy activities). I'm aware now, so hopefully I can manage it better. Hopefully y'all can help me keep sane if I start to veer too far left of center (a moderate amount of left of center is the spice of life, btw). I just really need a reboot, and this opportunity presented itself out of nowhere. I am planning to focus on weights, mainly heavy lifting, because it makes logical sense to my brain, it is something that I've never really tried before, and I miss weights (been at least 10 years, if not closer to 20 years since I used them regularly)...so that is the game plan. I'm scared, terrified, nervous, but more so - I'm excited...so foreign. Not sure how it will go, but I can never succeed if I don't even try, right?

What is this 17 Week Challenge you speak of?0
-
Heather, it's really kind of a generic "let's have a weight loss party together" kind of deal. So far no major plans - just weigh ins, plans for possible weekly challenges, no prizes aside from better health, etc.

You just have to join the group. It is open. The lady running it is very organized (reminds me of you!) and basically just trying to get people to get healthier their own way while all supporting each other... Check it out!!
Hugs,

I've seen so many people with the little Adipose fat blobs as their icons on here! So cute hah
I woke up very hungry this morning so I had a HUGE breakfast from the grocery store across the street from work. I'll probably eat a piece of fruit for lunch and have a big salad for dinner to even things out as much as possible.
Tonight will be my last run of the C25K program! I plan to keep up 3-4 runs a week, maybe varying the time a little bit. I'll probably stick to around 30 minutes for about a month, and then start working my time up again.
Other than that, I'm going to get a good night's sleep tonight!0 -
I don't think I could do 24 hours of no complaining. At least not with my job!
I love the little Adipose fat blobs, they were adorable. I am a huge Dr. Who fan (in case the ticker/t-shirt/phone cover didn't kinda already say that lol).
Today I am trying to make smart decisions. My team at work is having a Pot Luck and I decided not to participate. I was nervous because I had said something about not participating and one girl was like "But you just have to." Uh, no, I'm sorry but I don't. I understand that it's a great team builder and all that, but guess what, I'm trying to lose weight-and a Pot Luck is pretty much an all you can eat buffet...0 -
omg I am so jealous of your phone! I have not really got any Who items, I am a big fan too though, I have just avoided browsing the awesome stuff out there, because I am sure I will find loads of stuff I do not need and cannot afford lol. The Adipose were very cute. When it is my 5 year old and me having a day in the flat he will often ask for Dr Who to go on and we have a mini argument over whether it is Donna or Rose. Very rarely he wants Amy, for some reason he loves Rose, and I prefer Donna. I normally let him win just because I am so proud having a 5 year old wanting to join my geekiness with me0
-
I will ask my kids if they want to watch Dr Who with me and they'll both be like "No" but as soon as it's one they are sitting there in front of the TV with me.
I love Amy. I think it took me awhile to like Donna but I did like her after awhile. The first episode she was in (before she became a companion) she really just seemed like such a brat lol.
I only recently got some Who stuff. My phone case was off Amazon and cost like $7. It wasn't official merchandise. Same with my shirt in that picture, it was from Fresh Brewed Tees who do plus size "nerd shirts" as I like to refer to itI also have a few other Dr Who shirts I got from Blue Box Tees on a grab bag kind of sale ($8.00 each-can't beat that).

No complaints from me today! Long flight but slept on and off. Watched the first 4 Harry Potter movies...again!! Interesting what you can pick up on the second or third time around!!!
Carly I may check out your challenge too. I am up for a challenge...I need a challenge to be more accountable, as I have a weight loss goal I want to meet by the first of December, but need a more proactive group.
Cheers,
Nancy0 -
I love Doctor Who! If only they could create Adipose without the side effects... I guess if it were that easy there would be no sense of accomplishment haha. This morning I was able to take my nieces to their swimming lesson so that was a lot of fun. I will be at work for the next ten hours so I am very glad that I prepared my meals so I don't have to worry about what to get if I eat out.0

I'm definitely up for a challenge and I think I have a $50 target gift card floating around that I can toss in as a prize. How about a 50 bucks for 50 days challenge? I'll post some ideas for rules later.

Mmm mmmhmm mmmhhhmmm mmm mmm hhmmmmmm mmm mmmmhh mmm...
Oh sorry, that was me trying not to complain! I have two young kids home on summer vacation that like to push each others buttons until MY head explodes!! So I will just wave hello and come back tomorrow! hehehehe
Diana
PS. I would love to do another challenge. Heather's birthday Challege really helped me. I'd be interested in a 50 day challenge.0 -
What do you think of this for the 50-50 challenge?
For the next 50 days, try to earn the greatest number of points.
1 point for drinking 8+ glasses of water
1 point for exercising
1 point for staying in calorie range
Total possible points = 150
Wait, there's more! Add in 1 point for each pound lost during the 50 days.
Sound good?
We can also add in weekly challenges (like a sugar free day or a try a new exercise day for bonus points).
What do you all think?0 -
Hi Nancy, glad your travels were safe!0
-
I like the main part of the challenge idea, Karen, but I don't know about the bonus days. Some of those aren't realistic for everyone, and so they don't seem as fair.... But yeah, that sounds good...0

No complaints! So I can't complain that theirs all this Doctor Who talk and the next season hasn't started yet?
No real complains, but not a lot of plans for today either. I need to get a good amount of client work done today so i'm not sure what my workout will be, it might just have to be a skip day. It's thursday so it's free movie in the park night so I might put a chair on my back and bike down to the park to watch Disciple Me 2 and bike back home, but it will be my first night ride.
Just need to get going and stop feeling lazzy.0 -
I'm changing my plans! A couple of friends invited my fiance and me out to dinner so we're going to do that. I'll still have a salad, though! I'll still try to do C25K tonight, but more than anything else right now I need some socializing. I've been down in the dumps and feeling lonely (not complaining! just stating!), so getting a call from my friend was just what the doctor ordered. It was like a little burst of sunshine when I saw her name pop up on my phone, and so desperately needed. I'm feeling very, very grateful right now.0
-
Yeah I'd be in for the challenge Karen. Not sure about the point per pound lost though! I only lose half to 1 pound a week on a good week lol. Maybe just a point for a loss?0
-
Omg I am loving my DH so much right now. Badminton again outside this evening. It was 7pm the wind had died down and I asked and battered my eyelashes and he got dressed to come outside with me. It is good for the soul too as we laugh a lot at ourselves and each other, and I love that our son is seeing us being active together and laughing like that. Anyway waffling because I have adrenaline and love rushing through
Have a good evening all. x
Natasha
P.S Pat it is not long now hun! They just released a 1 min trailer in the UK for the new one starting in Aug. I thought it would be Sept so that means I have less time to wait so I am happy with that. Though I am unsure about the new doc, I am not a huge fan of that actor, but I will wait and see as nearly everyone says oh the next one wont be as good and every time while I have a fave (Tennant) I am still happy with the new one and am glued to every episode.0 -
Had a very long day with lots of obstacles but I'm not going to complain because it was an absolutely beautiful day. I'd be up for a challenge Karen. I've enjoyed Heather's birthday challenge even though I haven't lost anything, hehe. Sounds like everyone had a great day.0
