I just wanted to say hello to everyone in the group and see if we can get talking a bit more! My name is stacey and I have just recently started my weight loss journey. My goal is to lose 75lbs. I am currently only 5lbs. down. I haven't added any exercise to my routine yet. Been focusing on eating right, and by that I mean making sure that I eat 3 meals and 2 light snacks. ;) Part of my issue was/is not eating when I should and then being so damn hungry that I ate a bunch of crap. :p

what is your goal?
how far have you come?
what are you doing right?
what are some of your challenges?

Hope to hear from you soon and don't forget to weigh in with us on Wednesdays!

    Great idea.

    My name is Melissa.
My goal was to lose 32.5 pounds.
I've lost 29.5. (sometimes the same pound over and over  )
I've always heard people do better if they track their food so I log in and track everyday - even when I'm over my allotment and even the bad food choices. I hate to log those things I knew I should not have ate but I do it anyway. If you bite it write it. It also helps me if I look up the calories before I eat. I tend to make better choices when I do that. I chew gum on our weekly trips to Costco to avoid all the samples. I feel good when I can stroll by and say no thanks.
My biggest challenge is sharing a kitchen with a sweet toothed junk food junkie and that keeps his bad stuff well supplied and usually in sight. It is just 2 of us so we eat out several times a week. That can be hard. I don't like to waste so tossing out good food isn't easy. I don't want to bring a lot of leftovers home (he won't eat them) and I don't want even more restaurant food.
My biggest challenge is coming soon when we will be traveling with 3 grandkids and have to eat all meals out. When we travel we like to try new places so I won't always know what they have - and if it is really good I'm likely to eat too much. Buffets are so quick and easy - and dangerous. I always want just a sampling of the desserts because they look so good. They usually look better than they are and I remember that every time. A bite or two of several adds up fast.
My exercise routine is anything but routine. I have been doing some physical projects around the house and yard but even that is dwindling down as I get things completed. I would do so much better if I had an exercise buddy. I like to walk, ride bikes and even go the gym but own my own I usually skip it because I have other things I can be doing (work, errands)
I think I will set another goal of 10 pounds after I make this one, unless I can get self motivated enough to exercise. It is going to take one or other for my clothes to fit the way I want.
I hope I get through that trip without too big of a setback!

    You are doing so well!
I also share a kitchen with a junk food junkie. I tried the no bad snack buying thing, but he would just buy them on his own and bring it home. ..guess that means I just have to be stronger!

Ammoria - Junk in the house really makes it harder. Luckily I love all the seasonal fruits so I try keep me some of them plus there are some really good yogurts now. Dannon light and fit greek yogurt has really good flavors, only 80 calories a cup and lots of protein. I also buy Healthy Choice fudge pops. I just have to be careful, sometimes once I have something sweet it makes me want more. Remember, nothing tastes as good as thin feels
