Kashaas - Thanks for the info on the app. I'll have to check it out, it might help me on my days off.
Krnorris - I completely understand on the work is crazy thing. God luck trying to eat better during the day, I know it can be hard!
Texas - I agree on the heavy lifting. I prefer strength exercises to cardio any day. I don't have a gym near me, so most of my exercises are bodyweight. I do have a few beachbody / tony Horton dvds that focus on strength training over cardio.
Queendebor - "Exercise - What is that again? Ugh" makes me smile because that's my same thought. Right now, unless I'm getting exercise in at work, I'm not exercising.

Ok - if I'm to be truly honest, I don't pay attention to minerals at all except sodium and calcium. I use to be a salt addict (I seriously salted everything!), and calcium I'm constantly being told to check on because of bone health especially having a semi manual job.
Iron, I've been told multiple times I don't get enough of. I end up with massive bruises at the end of the day some days from work and generally the root cause is that 1 - I don't pay attention to hitting things and 2 I don't get enough iron. But the rest of them Chromium, copper, fluoride, iodine, magnesium, molybdenum, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, and zinc - I've heard of them but yeah I don't pay attention... I'm probably saved by my multivitamin for now...
And to be brutally honest. I ate crap for dinner last night, cheese pepperoni, tortilla shell (make-shift pizza anyone?), canned soup, candy bars... Then I stayed up till midnight watching Blue Bloods before deciding yes I should sleep due to work tomorrow. And my breakfast today is not good either Mocha from McDonalds and sausage biscuit. And my lunch will be a frozen pot pie, fiber one bar, and milk...
Yep. Food Friday not exactly off to the best start. Which is funny only because I think Friday's are the worst eating days for me and I'm the one posting about eating well! :blushing: Oh well. I'll learn.0 -

Today I woke up to my ankle all swelled up. I headed to urgent car to see what was up with it. My knee has been hurting all week and now this! I was told I have patellofemoral pain syndrome (aka runners knee) and it's causing drainage into my lower leg. It's caused by overuse of the knee joint. Well, go figure.
So I guess I'm on rest. They told me to elevate, ice, and take anti inflammatory. Ugh... I guess I'll be switching up my routine for a little while. Yoga is sounding good right now.
Food so far has been half a cliff bar for breakfast and a veggie burger with avocado for lunch. I need to start working on my water. I work this weekend but I'm gonna try to take it easy. Have a good day everyone, I'm off so I'm gonna relax!0 -
Breakfast was pretty typical for me...oatmeal and yogurt. Lunch was just some chicken and some fruit. Haven't really put much thought into dinner, but there isn't much to eat in my house anyway. Water is great as always. I'm taking today as a rest day since I walked 6 miles yesterday. Otherwise, everything is going great!0

Today's certainly not going well for me today. Ate basically bars for lunch (protein, fiber, candy, oatmeal) as I didn't get a chance to sit down very long at all. Dinner will be at 9pm after I get off of work and I have to decide to then eat after my longer drive or grab fast food.
Water, made it to 60oz so I'll hit my goal of 64. I don't really think this is enough but I'm learning to drink more.
Exercise - lots of stairs again. I really wish mental exercises counted for calorie burning, but oh well.
Tomorrow will be a good day! I will make it that way.0 -
Love the chart, no matter how good we eat we will never get all the vitamins the body needs to properly function. I believe everyone should supplement with quality vitamins.
Yes, I have been waiting on Friday since last Friday! Well my meal prep are usually done on the weekends so I won't be prepping anything today; however, I did finish off my salmon from last prep, had it with brown rice...I'm sick of chicken so it will probably be another week of salmon, and baked pork loins, with brown rice and veggies. For dinner I didn't eat healthy..the hubby grilled links and hamburger patties...so I'm eating 2 hot links with red wine...no gym today. I took a rest today because the weekends I workout longer so I'm letting my body rest before I put it through hell. This was my second rest day...I work out 5x a week. Hello, everyone! I'm new in the group, but really looking forward to a place for accountability and good information. I turn 50 later this year and am happy to have support on MFP. I didn't make it to the health club today since we were out most of the day, but my August exercise starts tomorrow. I have a good incentive: I got a new job last month with a health club benefit, but you have to go 48 times in a calendar year, which means by December 31. I'm also modifying my eating, as I know what I need to do but sometimes quite honestly just get lazy. I've worked a good daily vitamin and an omega supplement into my routine on my doctor's advice, too. Here's to a productive August!0
