Hi! I'm Lexi, I'm 21 and I was sleeved on 7/29/14
I was just looking for some advice from fellow VSGers on what to expect these coming weeks, and maybe find some buddies who have recently been sleeved too!
So, im wondering how long were you really sore afterwards?
When did you really get your appetite back?
What kind of exercise were you doing?
What did your daily diets look like?
Did you wear your abdominal binder even when you weren't being physical?
How did you treat your incisions during the first couple weeks?
And anything else you can think of that you wish someone would've told you right out of surgery! Thanks!

I also had the sleeve on 7/29. Feel free to friend me - my diary is open to friends. I am doing pretty well. I had really bad nausea but the doc put me on the patch for that and had me add some milk-based protein drinks to my clear liquid diet. My abdominal muscles are still pretty sore but that is the only pain I am having. I have 7 incisions and they all feel fine, maybe a little itchy as they heal. I just dab them gently while I am in the shower. They have steri-strips on them and the doc said they will fall off on their own. I am not really exercising yet but trying to get my walking in. I go back to work tomorrow (but only teaching one morning class). I definitely don't have an appetite. I am trying really hard to get more tan 500 calories in, because I feel a little weak. I hope you start feeling better soon!0

I'm over a year out from my sleeve, here is what I can share to the best of my recollection!

My incisions and tummy were sore for a few days. The drain site was sore on movement for a couple of weeks.
When did you really get your appetite back?
About eight months post op.
What kind of exercise were you doing?
Per my surgeon's orders, walking only for the first four weeks. After that, moved on to low impact aerobics, light weight work, and some pilates. I've never been huge on exercise though.
What did your daily diets look like?
Full liquids for the first four weeks. I got a minimum 75 grams of protein and between 30-60 carbs daily. After that, four weeks of purees - 3 meals per day, no snacks other than protein shakes. Each meal was a max of 3 tablespoons in size. Not allowed anything other than high protein foods at this point - no grains, no starchy veg, no fruit, etc.
Finally, four months of soft foods - everything had to be something you could cut easily with a fork. 3 meals per day, no more than 3 ounces per meal, no snacks other than protein shakes. At the soft foods stage I was allowed (soft) fruit but still no grains, no starchy veggies, and no sweets.
Did you wear your abdominal binder even when you weren't being physical?
I never had an abdominal binder.
How did you treat your incisions during the first couple weeks?
My incisions were closed with surgical glue so they didn't need any treatment. I just ignored them.0
