Today's inspirational post is great advice. So true!
Relatives have gone back....today I have to make a perfect day. Didn't do bad yesterday but could have definitely done better last night. Today I plan to totally stick to my calorie limit, and will either get out for a run or do a strength/cardio workout in the basement. I haven't done one in awhile, so maybe thats what I'll do.
My boys have been off work while my relatives were here as well, so today they are back at it. It will be a quiet day!
Welcome back Jen!0 -
Today's threadstarter pretty much sums up how I started out on my journey, and this is the advice I give my friends or family who ask for advice. I've tried the other way and end up getting frustrated and overwhelmed and end up quitting. I think the reason I've been successful this time around is that those good habits happened so gradually that it all kind of snuck up on me. ha ha
Lighter workout day today - Pilates after work, plus hopefully a walk at lunch with a friend. Supposed to be a beautiful day.
Hope you have a great eating & fitness day Maureen!
Happy Tuesday everyone else.0 -
Laura, incredible profile picture, it is so great to see before and after pics. You have certainly done well! I agree about the thread starter, baby steps.
I have just finished a Jillian Michaels RI30 workout and I am going to do some more stuff throughout the day with my hand weights. I have not slacked with my running but I have with that.0 -
Today I started out with intention to run on the track. I am training with the end goal of running a 5k. My husband is training for a marathon - which is a nice goal for him, but not for me - not yet. It started to rain so I went home. I was a bit sore from kettle bell yesterday so I wasn't terribly upset except that I allowed my head to talk myself out of it. By the time I got home (two minutes later) it stopped raining and I thought I might as well go for at least a walk. I ended up running bits and pieces probably over a mile of the 3 mile route I took. It felt pretty good although very tired arms and legs!
Laura I'm so impressed with your 1/2 marathon congratulations! What determination!0 -
Looks like everyone's week started off alright. I got a few hours of manual labor in this morning, so I took advantage of that with two breakfasts. Feel so full, hope that feeling lasts most of the day. I have been doing better at getting in more exercise time, instead of being satisfied with half of what I want to do in a day. I usually tell myself, that if I worked out at all, then that is good enough. But I am panicking that school is going to be starting so soon, and I want to look good.0

Thank you all for the birthday wishes yesterday! I had a nice birthday and can report 40 feels pretty much the same as 39.
LOVE today’s inspirational post, it really spoke to me.
As you could imagine, I did not eat within my cals yesterday nor did I expect to. I had a late night yesterday with a (high-chair free!) nice dinner out of fondue a deux. This morning I didn’t even try to get up and exercise but I did go for a nice walk this afternoon at work.
Forgot my lunch Lean Cuisine…and had birthday cake for lunch. Afternoon snack of protein bar and broccoli.
I’ve been pretty much the same weight since May… I see the disconnect from what I *want* and how I *act.*
How do you stay focused?0
