Ok guy/gals: We are all doing this to get healthy. Believe me I get that, but what ticks me off is, I am not hungry mentally or physically, yet I know I need to eat. 1) because I will get a slight headache even thou it has only been 3 hrs since last meal. 2) to help keep my Blood sugar level. The thing that ticks me off the most is my appetite will kick in this evening. Sometimes it is a constant juggling act. Phewwww.... Ok that said, I will go eat my cottage cheese and me thankful for the gifts I have been given. :blushing: Thanks for reading and listening. :flowerforyou:

Have you tried keeping some of your calories or food for the evening? I don't think you more hungry at night, I think it's probably head hunger, but I get that way sometimes too. On days when I'm battling the head hunger, I will eat the protein portion of my dinner at dinner time. Then about an hour or two later, I eat the vegtable portion which for me is usually salad. I love salad and lettuce really fills me, so if I do that, I can't eat again before bed. Tjhere's just no room for anything else. Especially if I'm still trying to get the rest of my water in.

    Just a thought.

I also have immense head hunger at night. So difficult to deal with. Good tips, Pat.

It could be head hunger, but our bodies have a way of reacting to food as well. I would also look at the early day carb amounts, I find if I have carbs early in the day I am craving even more at night. I read a study before (wish I had a link) and it tied early carb eating (even mild amounts) to increased hunger later. Had to do with insulin relaease and other chemicals.

Thanks for all the responses. I eat mostly protein in the mornings/lunch. I save calories for snacks in the evenings. I guess my point was that I have to eat when I am not hungry. Physically or head hungry and that is what ticks me off. I am trying to keep the blood sugar level and I don't want to get real hungry so that I binge. This is where the juggling act comes in. It was just a vent thou, I will get over it like everything else in life, this to shall pass. Just one of those little frustrating things.

I am in the same boat. I won't be hungry during the day but in the evenings its like my cravings/hunger go through the roof. Even if I eat well balanced nutrition through the morning and afternoon.

My night time issue is that when the rest of the house goes to bed and I am up watching a Tigers game, it is my alone time. In the past, that turned into beer/wine time, second dinner time, whatever yummy is in the house time. There are lots of times in the past when the kids would be looking for something that was in the cupboard/fridge when they went to bed and Dad had the sheepish hand in the cookie jar face.

I still want the alone time, but I need to be able to enjoy the time without all of the old habits, and there is no one around but me to help. Last night was one of these nights . . .

Rob, I have exactly the same thing. My wife goes to bed about 9:30, and I'm up until about 10:30 or 11. After she goes to bed, my hungries come out too! I however had decided to embrace it. I generally make myself something ahead of time, or keep "approved" snacks in readily available in the pantry. I'll also reserve about 3 or 400 calories for after dinner, so that I can indulge myself. So, really, I end up eating 4 meals throughout the day.

Lately, I've been on a frozen yogurt kick. I'll wizz up a cup of greek yogurt, 5 pumps of SF strawberry syrup, and about a cup of frozen strawberries together in the blender. I'll then let it sit in the freezer for about an hour or two to harden up some. It's pretty darn good and keeps me satisfied! I get to endulge my sweet tooth, but still stay on track.

Csmccord: I hear you. I do the same thing. What I was complaining about was having to eat when I wasn't hungry. :grumble: I know that if I don't thou my blood sugar drops or I am starving by meal time than I tend to over eat. It is like walking a tight rope at time.
Oh well I will take it over the old me.

    Good Ideas, thanks!

I have seen you talk about the Sugar free syrups, I need to look into them.

My wife and I have found that we like the Torani brand more than the Davinci brand. We've tried some of the Davinci and they just had a weird taste to them compared to the Torani syrups. However, the Davinci are more readily available in our area. We generally use amazon for the Torani syrups, but you can buy them straight off their website as well.

Just be warned, some are shipped in glass bottles, and some suppliers will not ship them in the winter due to the risk of them freezing and breaking.

World Market also has a good selection of sugar free Torani syrups, if there is one in your area.

Not sure where there is a World Market, but I will look at my local snooty grocery store and see if they carry them.

    Thanks!
