Hi there,
I'm new to this group so I'm sure this question has been asked before, but why in the world have I not lost wore weight?

I am 5ft and 120lbs I would like to get down to 110. Through most of my life I was very overweight and then in high school I started to see a nutritionist who got me on the right track. But then I got very depressed and the restriction and rewards that came with my diet developed into binging and fasting. I was 94lbs when I got to college.

Now I'm all better and put on 30lbs at school. I still fight myself everyday, telling myself that it is a good things that I've gained weight. But I would like to healthily lose a little. That is why I got on this website, it wasn't too restricting and could tell me if I was doing everything right.

That being said, I AM doing everything right...I think. I did lose a little weight. I eat 1200 calories today and I exercise. I always log my food. I drink at least 25oz of water a day (is that enough?) and I also do a LITTLE strength training (although I don't record that).

When I first started I was excited to not have as many restrictions so I started eating things I had not eaten for a long time like pasta, cheese, cream, etc. But now I've gotten used to them and I don't think I eat them in such big quantities. I believe my food diary is open and I'm completely open to criticism! Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. The reason I have not recorded my actual weight in a while is because it just goes up and down from 120 to 118 and never any lower and I'm getting so frustrated.

Like I said, I'm not sensitive about my eating habits, if I'm eating too much/too little of something just let me know.

I'm not going to go into great detail here, but the most likely scenario is that you are not logging accurately enough (even if you think you are). A few hundred calories can make enough of a difference to stall fat loss.

In having a look through the last week or so of your diary, it looks like you're living on waffles, coffee, cheese, icecream and jerky. Not entirely of course, but this makes up a fair bit of your intake. For one, this puts your sodium intake at the high end, and will cause you to retain a lot of water (affecting scale weight). You are very low on protein though, and need a lot more macronutriwnts in your diet.

I'd suggest swapping out a few highly processed foods - at least at one meal per day to start - with a source of lean protein and veg. This will keep your macros in check, and will give your body the vitamins it needs.

Lastly, make sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day, especially with all the processed salty foods you're eating. 25oz is not enough, I'd double that amount at least.

    Thank you!
Heh I'm embarrassed I guess I'm just used to how I eat at college. Yeah I'm getting rid of the cheese now. I have always had trouble getting the protein I need without adding sugar (special k protein shakes) or sodium (like the jerky) as I don't really like cooked meats and I'm allergic to fish and nuts too. Any suggestions? A lot of protein bars have nuts or traces of nuts in them.
