I may not post daily, but this challenge is motivating me to ride even when I don't want to. My motto is something is better than nothing as witnessed by my Friday ride.

To all those folks that bike long distances what do you eat during the ride to keep your energy up (if anything at all)?0 -

I always carry almonds with me on every ride I take. It's easy to eat and easy to pack. But anything high protein would work! Lots of times on 40-50+ rides we will stop for a quick bite. I'm rethinking that though as I always feel sluggish for a bit after.0 -
Today (so far): 4.28 miles!
I might decide to try it again after work, depending on how I feel.0 -

It varies depending a lot on the distances. Anything under 30 miles, I really don't bring anything extra along. Between 30 to 60, I will carry a bag of sports beans and/or a clif bar--something that won't melt or get to messy in my back pocket. Rides above 60, I will usually put my handle bar bag on and carry extras of both and also grab a bite while I am riding. Supported rides, i will grab a banana or pickles any chance I get. Also to a point where I have learned I need to eat if I want to make it through a 100 miler without bonking. Post ride especially a long or hard ride is always some chocolate milk.0 -
