I'm ready for my next bulk phase. My current weight is 152# at 8%BF and my goal weight is 165# at 10%BF. I'll try to keep this thread up to date with my progress, during the bulk.

I just had my first hydrostatic body composition analysis done and here are the vital stats:

Update: I just finished a two month paleo challenge. I am the same weight as when I started (152#), even though I ate a reasonable surplus during the challenge. I'll be adding dairy back to my diet the next week or so.. if I don't start gaining again, I'll up my intake.

What did I learn during my time eating strict paleo? I missed having pancakes once a week and cheese every day. That's about it.

The biggest news: I just finished a 12 wk Oly lifting cycle and set two PRs:
    135# Snatch
    185# Clean and Jerk

My snatch technique made the most progress. I still have a long way to go with the C&J.

Update: my weight is 154.6# My progress is slow but steady.

I just finished the Smolov base mesocycle squat cycle with a 1RM of 315#. I am very happy to add 20# to my squat during a 4wk cycle and I'm pretty excited to see what happens during the next two cycles.

I gained 2# in the past 4 wks, which is a pretty ideal rate of gain IMO. Here I am at 155.4#

I remember your first bulk from a year ago or so. Good to see that you are still kicking *kitten*.

157 and I'm done with the bulk for a bit. I need a break from focusing on working out and FOOD. I'll probably maintain for a few wks and then decide whether to continue with the bulk or do a 5# cut. I'm on the fence right now.

I tweaked my knee a couple wks ago and it's been very frustrating during my workouts. Sometimes it feels great and then the next day it's so sore. At 49 yrs old, it takes a long time to heal, so I need to be patient... it could be months before the knee is back to normal.

On a happier note, I PRd my front squat last night (bad knee and all) at 265#.

Also, here's a vid of my first legless rope climb. (sorry I don't know how to do a proper hyperlink here, so you'll have to copy the link below)

Nice work on the rope. I gotta hang a rope in my garage sometime and try it out.

Congrats and thanks for the update.
I understand the need for a break. I'm 41 and strained my shoulder labrum during my bulk. I've gained ~10lbs from my low 4 months and have feel like I've been stuffing myself every night. I'm taking a bulking break for the next month until I get my shoulder looked at again.

I was tested by a mobile testing service from www.fitnesswave.com A local CrossFit box scheduled a service out of New York and opened it up to the public. Basically it's a commercial box truck that is a self-contained hydrostatic testing facility. Very professional.
