    Good morning!

Excited to have gotten a new pair of running sneakers this week...my all time favorites - Asics Nimbus. I have always loved these sneakers but last time decided to try the Brookes Glycerin. I did like them, but still like the asics better. So, I haven't been out in them yet, maybe today.

I have finally been swimming at the lake! What the heck took me so long. So refreshing and makes you feel great. I do roughly a 2K swim, mostly front crawl. My dh is training for triathlons so he has the distance marked, its about 1/2 km once across the lake.

My plan today is to drink a lot of water. I have been slacking on my water intake.

New running shoes are so much fun. I put 2 miles on my new ones Wednesday night and my trainer cleared me to run 3-4 tomorrow. My chiropractor worked on my foot yesterday morning and it's feeling a lot better today. Maureen it's great that you've got distance marked in the lake so you can track like that. I've just started swimming and I'm curious to see how long it takes me to build up stamina to swim any kind of distance. I'm still mostly focusing on getting my form correct.

    Rest day today for me.

My goal for the weekend is to eat well. Monday I stopped tracking calories because I needed a break from it, and for whatever reason it's making me eat better. Maybe it's just that I feel more accountable to eat well, because my strategy was to eat like I normally would, just without writing it down. A couple of times I have passed on extra treats because I'm not tracking so I wasn't sure if it would fit into my calorie target or not. But looking back I don't regret passing on any of it (even the ice cream cake on Wednesday which really did look delicious at the time). I weighed this morning & I'm down 2 pounds since Monday so it seems to be working. Now to just keep that going.

Hope everybody has a great Friday.

LOVE this threadstarter! My weight loss journey has been so slow going and un-dramatic. I’ve lost over 55lbs over a 30year period. Which means that it’s pretty slow going. But I am going in the right direction!

This afternoon it was easy to say no to cake since my hienie is killing me from my trainer’s merciless exercises this am. Tonight I’m going to be soaking in an Epsom salt bath.

Yesterday my hubs forgot to crock our dinner and didn’t realize it until 5pm…So instead of getting our usual—two deep dish medium pizzas—I got one large hand tossed. It fed our family of 3 (my toddler ate the same number of slices as me!) with just one piece leftover instead of at least two more meals. I felt satisfied and not like I went off the rails.

Ready for a healthy weekend, going to the market today after work.

You guys are making me crave new sneaks. New running shoes = happy feet

Sounds like a great day, Maureen, new shoes and swimming!

Glad that you're able to increase your running mileage, Laura; that the foot is doing well. Your morning swimming sounds pretty nice, too. Congratulations on the 2 lb loss.

Good going with the pizza, April! Hope your weekend is healthy, too.

Finally got my car into the shop today. Dropped the car off and walked home with the dogs. Then we went out again, this afternoon, for a while and got more walking and training in. Then, because it must be catching, I bought new running shoes, plus a new headband, race bib holder, and a new shirt (really lightweight for hot summer running). Finally, this evening, Fells and I ran the two+ miles back to the shop and picked the car up.

After my workouts on Tuesday and Thursday, I was really sore today. Since I plan to run to another workout class on Saturday morning, I was seriously thinking of not running today, just walking. On the other hand, I'm trying to get ready for a half marathon race and will do a long run on Sunday. I have to get multiple short runs in during the week. I didn't run on Monday or Wednesday. So 2 miles was my compromise.
