Interesting Video on Calories [LONG]

I am currently unable to sleep. I went from having a packed house, to being home alone. And, it is too quiet. I can't seem to relax.
Anyway, I am watching this video. It is pretty interesting about the calories in and calories out model and why it isn't as effective as everyone would like it to be. I figured it would go over better here than in the main forums. We all know better than to question CICO there.

You'll note, he stresses that calories do count. He even says you could gain weight on a high-fat, no carb diet (drinking 10k calories of liquid butter a day). Although, no one would ever do that.
I found it interesting. I'm only 40 minutes into it. But, I expect the rest to be equally good.

Thank You for the link.....Excellent!!!!
Very easy to listen to, focused, and a great balance of "fact", real life examples, and a great speaking style.
I'll be referring to it often as well as getting the book (which was NOT his primary concern when delivering the presentation, but DOES contain much more of the "detail" and foundational research references I love).
Thanks again and for others, I can't recommend Frob's link any more strongly for those interested in actual "fact" gathering.0 -
I actually went and got the book on my kindle after I finished the video. I've not gotten too far into it, yet, because my life went back to being chaotic. Did I mention that I didn't know what to do with my empty house? Well, it's jam packed again. LOL0

Thanks for sharing. I found the book at my local library so I'll be going this evening or tomorrow evening to check it out.0

As Frob indicated, the book is also available in a Kindle edition (~$13) for those who have a K (or want to install the K reader app if they don't).
Here's a link to it:

The author (Jonathan Bailor) also has a website/blog for those interested.
It includes a free "program" (haven't looked into the details yet), and a section on recipes which looks interesting.
it's here:

I have no vested interest (in book sales) and I'm pretty sure neither does Frob - sharing information is what it's all about.0 -
Interesting that you should post this now. I've been surfing articles about the CICO myth. Looking forward to watching this. (Not right now, I just can't stare at another screen for any more time today. My eyes are tired.0
