Hello friends! Last month I was in pretty good shape. Now that I'm 10 days till my surgery (I am having my appendix removed) I am so very stressed out. I'm not sleeping right, not waking up in the morning, eating an average of 1000 extra calories a day, often in one sitting. I'm trying so very hard to keep a level head and tell myself that I don't need food to feel better, but I end up binging anyways and feeling worse about it later.

So my question is this: When you are at your limit, your wit's end, what do you do? Thank you everyone for listening!

I'm sorry to hear that you're getting stressed. I'm not really sure how to answer about what I do when I'm at my limit. Well I know how you feel about feeling worse about it. When I'm about to binge I try to stop myself and ask myself if it is worth it. Sometimes I'm able to stop myself and other times I can't. Don't get too hard on yourself just try to keep a level head and forget about today and the rest of the week just try to refocus on tomorrow. I'm sorry I can't really be of much help.
  • Honestly just talking about it is more a help than I'm getting right now haha. I'm going to start carrying a notepad with me and write down what I'm feeling when I feel like binging. I read it in a book once and I think maybe it will help.

That sounds like a good idea. I've heard of writing down how you feel before.

I'm a student and work, but this is my month off. I was binging like crazy a few days ago: I had just finished work for the summer (I work as a student), and my stress was off the roof. I went from doing a detox type diet with no wheat and low carb, to binging day after day.
I decided that I would start working out at night, during the hours when I would usually binge, and the change in daily pattern has helped me so much. It's now my sixth day without binging, and the first time in months that I can say this (that low carb diet only lastzed 3 days).
So my advice: change the pattern of the day. Wish you best of luck and quick recovery after the surgery!
