Forerunner 305, vivofit and hate rate strap

Hi, I have forerunner 305 and a vivofit from some time.
Today, finally, I pair both (before my exercise) with my chest heart rate monitor.
When I finished, both devices showed me different calories burned.
Forerunner = 190, and vivofit=370.
So, is it normal? don't they have to be the same number? which one is more accurate?
I followed a program where I do intervals between walking (22 min total) and running (8 min total) for 30 min.
Edit: sorry for that title, I hope one day the strap will be unnecessary :P

Try only pairing one...it looks as tho the Vivofit doubled up
You could try pairing one and doing the exercise and then next time pairing the other and then see what calorie burn you get on both devices.
PS I like the title! I too want a HRM without the chest strap.0 -

Have a look at the Mio LINK http://www.mioglobal.com/Mio-LINK-Heart-Rate-Band-Grey/Product.aspx?ProductID=14&DeptID=1
To the OP, in your case I would think the FR305 number is more accurate than the vivofit :sad:0 -
At this time there does not seem to be any product that is very accurate or better than a HRM strap yet.
This guy does very good reviews on running/cycling/swimming products.

Forerunner & Vivofit both are Garmin products.
It shouldn't be used together at once.
If you did, it will messed up the calories counted.
If you want to compare, use 1 first then change it to the other & do the same exercise :happy:0 -
I only have my Forerunner paired with my HRM not my Vivofit so have no problems with any double counting. Only when I am running I want to see my heartrate.0

Ok, I know what is the problem now
Vivofit isn't double calories, I have made multiple tests about that.
Both devices are independent, the only thing that counts double is the distance.
The problem is the way the Forerunner 305 calculates your burned calories. It doesn't use the heart rate.
The expenditure calories are calculated in base of your distance and time, NOT your heart rate.
I use both whenever I run, then I delete the vivofit data since I have found out that doing it doesn't alter the calories burned of the day. That way I can have tha exact calories and the exact distance.
My impressions: Use forerunner for distance, and vivofit for calories. They can be used at the same time.0
