With so many diet options around, choosing the right one to follow appears to be difficult. Has anyone tried any particular diet? How well did it work for you?

    I believe that we should eat healthier by eliminating junk food, sugar and most processed food from our diet. These have being proven to have ill effects on our body and linked to diabetes which is of great concern to keep. My mom and dad both had diabetes. At one point in my life I was on the verge of serious food disorder. I was bingeing non stop. I craved sugary sweets like no man's land and couldn't seem to have control over my appetite. I started to put on weight gradually and couldn't care less until I couldn't fit into almost all my clothes. A day came when I went to buy clothes. I tried on size 12 and couldn't zip it up. I use to be UK size 8-10. That experience was the deciding factor in my life. I knew that I needed to change and very quickly.

    I started to do loads of research on the internet. I wasn't just looking to loose weight, I was also looking at how to beat diabetes and how to feel more energetic rather than the crap feeling I had. I came across diet ideas like Green Smoothie, intermittent fasting, low carb diet, calorie counting etc and of course exercise.

    I started with green smoothies every morning and my my appetite was curbed significantly as well as my sugar craving. I started counting calories, stopped drinking juice, soda and the likes. I ate more eggs and also included vegetables in my meals daily. I swapped my white bread for wholemeal. I even tried my hands on baking my own bread. I ate less cereals. I did intermittent fasting for about two weeks and lost a lot of belly fat.

    Now 4 months down the line, I have lost an amazing 12kg. I look and feel amazing. I try to exercise indoors 3-5times a week. Looking at all the fit ladies on the telly, I know I can definitely get those toned body as theirs. This is not just dieting. It is fitness for life. My healthy lifestyle choice.☺
