Saw the Doc today

Finally got to the doctor (specialist) today. I got to see both a prectitioner and a doctor. Both agreed that I should pretty much live my life as I did before, even riding my bike outside, just no crazy downhills on my MTB. He told me he wants me on the meds for 9 months and then they will re-evaluate me and see if I can cease taking it at that time or continue with it. Looks like I will start up on my bike again, but going to start off easy, at least for me.

definitely be very cautious since you can't clot your blood on the medication you are on, a big wreck could be a big deal. I have an idea! can you wear a bubble wrap suit?0

Glad to hear that all is good. What meds are you on. If you don't have a road ID. I would recommend getting one and putting the type of meds you are on and the quantity. Purely for the purpose of if you stack and need medical attention, they know how to stop the bleeding or not to give you anything that might interfere with the meds.
Neve the less enjoy your time back on the bike.0 -
@Dolce, lol, I got a visual in my brain of the bubble wrap suit!
@kupe doc has me on Xeralto. One of the first things I did when I got back was order up one of those bracelets. Defiantly a great idea.
One of the things about Xeralto is it does not stay in the body long once the dosage is stopped. I think I read somewhere 24 hours or less and my blood would be back to normal.
I will be taking it easy for sure in any case.0 -

Great to hear the good prognosis mate. Take it really easy on the bike, life is a marathon not a sprint
Maybe start off just doing some miles on the trainer?0 -

So glad to hear this wonderful news! I'm sure getting some time on the bike again will be a great stress relief, although it might add some concern for your wife. Take it easy but enjoy yourself :flowerforyou:0

Cool Beans! I'm glad you don't have to abstain from riding. You don't realize how much you love something like that, until you can't do it whenever you feel like it.
Thats for sure.0 -
Today is the one month mark that I got out of the hospital. My left foot and ankle are still swollen, but it is going down. My foot is finally getting some shape back. I'm up to about 55 miles per week on the bike and today I did a 20 miler. Everything seems to going very well. Dont know when I will be back to 200+ miles per week, but maybe in a couple months or so.0
