Not losing weight

I am currently looking to lose about 24lbs. I am 29, female, 5'4, 139lbs give or take. I have been yo-yoing the same 1lb since August. I run 6 miles a day 6 days week then about 25-45 min of cardio/aerobics. Food wise I'm a vegan, have two smoothies a day (one fruit, one green), sensible dinner, minimal snacking. Calorie wise I'm at about 1,299 a day (sometimes more dependent on what my fitbit decides). Ideally I wanted to lose the weight by November (or at least make decent progress). Originally I had been doing trail running and was told that should be building muscle, however I have switched to in my neighborhood due to gas costs. My exercise/diet has varied a bit this week, since I started a new job and am still adjusting to schedule change. Any help would be much appreciated.

We are in August, do you mean less than 30 days or a whole year?

1 lb fluctuation isn't yo-yoing, it's contingent upon the size of the crap you took that morning.

30 days is not nearly enough to see visible changes, especially on the scale. Be patient.

    Good luck

You run 6 miles a day, 6 days a week plus extra cardio, and you are only eating 1300? Is that right? Are you weighing everything and absolutely certain on intake? If so, I would think you have or will have energy issues at some point (unless you are not logging accurately). That really is no where near enough to sustain that kind of activity.

Read that link from top to bottom, and then reevaluate your intake/output/goals to make sure they are reasonable before you get too frustrated. And yeah, 30 days is not long enough to judge if it is "working", but really, make sure you have all your numbers correct before "wasting" that 30 days on something that is "off" already.

For comparison - I am 5'5", 132 pounds today, do little cardio (maybe 20-30 min 2-3 times a week) but do lift weights regularly and I *maintain* on about 2000-2200 calories a day. If I drop to 1700, I lose weight slowly (I dont want to lose anymore at this point). Everyone is different, but you can definitely lose weight eating more than you think, and by eating enough to sustain your energy output, you are more likely to be happier in general (not hungry and cranky) and you can sustain this lifestyle for much longer than you could a very low calorie one (meaning you will keep the weight off longer/perm!)

Have you increased you activity and/or changed it over the last month?
  • Energy wise I'm ok, can't stay up round the clock anymore. Whoops meant to say Julyish. Sorry about that. I'm reading throught the link now. I added the extra cardio in about 3/4weeks ago. Thanks for the help so far. I measure out my food, instead of weighing. So amounts should be pretty acurate.
