fueling for slower race

I am running back to back halves this weekend. Saturday I'm running my first trail half, totally excited about it
But my question is in regards to fueling. Now I have run 9 halves and a full and have run plenty of long runs..so normally I know how to fuel..but my second half on Sunday I'm running with friend. The pace will be 4-5 minutes a mile slower than I run my halves normally..I will be out there a lot longer than normal, but not putting in nearly as much effort per mile as I would if I was racing it. The race will have a water stop every 2 miles and will offer gatorade at every other stop..I'm thinking if I just take the gatorade I shouldn't really need to fuel any more...i ran 11 miles at this pace with my friend a few weeks ago and didn't fuel and didn't need to (following a 20 mile run the day before)..so thinking i should be ok, but wondering if anyone has any opinions/experience with this. My only worry would be that I'm running a half the day before and may deplete my glucose storage...

I have no experience running trails but I assume you will do your normal fuel/breakfast for your trail half. I think if you survived 11 miles with no fueling after your 20, you should be ok with the gatorade. I like to eat a lot after my HM so you shoud be able to replenish without any trouble. Your friend may be a little pumped up on race day, so you may run a little faster. Might have a banana just to be safe?0
