Pregnancy & Carbs?

So, I'm knockered & seeking advice, as the midwives won't see me until the 22nd. Just as on MFP, there's lots of debate over low-carbing on all of the pregnancy sites. Does anyone have any _real_ knowledge about the dangers of ketosis while pregnant? If I want to avoid ketosis but still restrict carbs, how many grams should I be aiming for? Or should I just buy keto sticks & use them as a barometer of my levels? I've read that 120 grams / day is the bare minimum (women with gestational diabetes still eat ~200 g/ day!), but I honestly don't know how to eat that many carbs anymore! Ack!

If you're on reddit.com, I would look up the ketobabies subreddit. You may get some more insight there.

Thanks, Lady! I posted this same question on the pregnancy group & am inwardly cringing in anticipation of the "your baby will be retarded!" comments...off to reddit!

http://www.dietdoctor.com/how-to-eat-to-get-pregnant according to this rather long, but informative interview, the fertility doctor recommends staying lchf during pregnancy. Says you'll gain less weight and have better milk supply too. Good luck and congrats!
