length of swimming pool obviously!
gym pool is 12.8 metres.
62 laps to the half mile
78 lengths to a kilometre/1000 metres
100. minimum daily
125. 1mile
156. 2 km/2000m.
i think at this stage i would find a 25m pool daunting.
loving my pool time.

does size really matter?

20m pool for me - makes counting km swum easy, but in miles its just over 80 lengths for 1 mile.

Lol! Obviously! I'm usually at 25m but occasionally get to a 33m and once in a long while a 50m
    does size really matter?
    Yep it does.
    :-)
Mostly in the mind, but if you are usually a 12 er and you encounter a 50m it can be pretty daunting!
If you do tumble turns that is lots more tumble turns (tiring) but you also get lots more wall push off (advantage).

If you rest after each length, then you will find yourself pretty breathless in a 50 m pool.

As an objective I would aim for a pool at least 25 m long if there is one nearby!!!

25M pool. Would love to try a 50M pool sometime. I really liked the open water swim for my mile but don't really have access to those last 2 options. When I swim in my friend's outdoor pool I swim in a circle and only for time. It's to hard to calculate even though it is a nice sized pool. Sometimes going back and forth to make a mile or more is boring. It's a good thing I just love to swim.

CW - being Irish, you scared me ;-) & I wasn't going to post, but since it's POOL length you're asking about - 25 yards......

Size definitely matters to me - the bigger the better!

I like to swim distance so the more room to stretch out the better, so I love my 50m summer pool. I have swum in a 100yd one too, which is fantastic! Down to a 20m for the winter though and I feel a bit like a lion pacing in a cage.

I swim in a 50 metre indoor pool in winter and in summer I often go to an outdoor pool for a change.
I find its easy to do the lengths and easy to count 50 laps = 2.5kms.
I think I might get dizzy in a smaller pool with all the turns!

Local Pool is a 25 meter. 40 Lengths to the Km. 20 Laps.
I visit a 50 meter pool Love it. 20 Lengths to the Km. 10 Laps.

Love the 50 Meter Pool. Less turns, I thought it would be exhausting and I would being sucking for breath at the end of a length but once I had my rhythm established it was easy. Now I look forward to a Road Trip so I can make waves and turns in the big Pool.

Actually, it is a hair longer. 70.4. (or 35.2 laps.)
The first interger lap/mile point is 5 miles at 176 laps. :)

My Y is 25 yards. I do 110 laps a day for 5.03km. Love the smell of chlorine in the morning.
