fitbit zip doesnt seem to be picking up steps

Do you have to wear something specific for the zip to pick up your steps. I just noticed that it was not picking up my steps when I was walking. Normally I wear jeans or pants which I have never noticed it not working but now I was wearing tracksuit pants (which are a bit lose around the waste) and it was not picking up my steps. Any suggestions?

It shouldn't matter. I used to have a zip and it picked up my steps no matter what I was wearing or where it was placed on my body.
Try resetting it:

If that doesn't fix it you might need to contact fitbit support. I had an issue with a Flex not picking up steps randomly and they set me a replacement.0 -
thanks. it seems to be working again so ill see how it goes and if it stops working again try the reset.0
