Looks like we are a go for 10/27 for the gastric bypass.
Now if I can just get out of the Last Supper Syndrome so I can stop undoing all the work I've done the past 18 months.

I remember my last meal very well! I said goodbye to all of my favorite, fatty Mexican foods. It's all worth it though! Good luck!0

Good luck
Last Supper Syndrome. LOL. I had a bit of that. The good thing is that the 1-2 weeks before the surgery you are usually on a strict pre-op diet, and you will lose it all again. Better to put the brakes on that behavior now, though0 -
Say goodbye now, and get a good running start on losing before your surgery date. Those that lose a bunch beforehand always seem to do a little better than those who don't lose much, or gain a little.

I second this. I lost 70 lbs pre-surgery and started exercising pre-surgery as well, and I truly believe it was part of the reason my recovery was so easy and why transitioning into my "new normal" was so easy. By the time I decided to have the surgery and commit myself to the process, I was not so interested in having a "last supper", I just wanted to move forward and start my new life!0 -
Thanks everyone. Actually, I have been working out with a trainer since right after my hysterectomy in June last year and that's why I opted for WLS. I was gaining weight no matter what I did. We (my doctor and I) had hoped the surgery would make my hormone problems better, but it did just the opposite. I'd gain 10 pounds in two weeks eating less than 2,000 calories per day.
So, I have to track and exercise just to keep from gaining weight. Although, I have lost a little in the 6- month supervised diet. (I went from 265 to 252 in that process, currently at 244 - I was over 300 at my highest weight and have spent most of my adult life around 245).
The Last Supper Syndrome, as the RD calls it, is hard to fight, but I'm doing my best. I'm continuing to track, wear my Fitbit, and I have a picture of a cartoon liver with a STOP sign on my pantry and refrigerator to remind me anything I do between now and the surgery will affect my liver, which will affect the surgery.
I'd like to get below 240 for the surgery, so that's my new goal. Since I'm goal-oriented in general, that will probably help.
I'll keep you posted, and thanks again for your comments and support!0
