I play beach volleyball and I want to be able to take my shirt off without disgusting everyone. Also play basketbally and notice my knees hurt after a game. I figure if I lost about 20 pounds, it would significantly reduce the weight that my knees have to support and I may even become able to dunk a basketball again!! Who knows...

Sweetie I know exactly how you feel...My husbands family is a thin family and they always have snarky remarks about my weight. GRRR it's really hurtful but I don't see them but only Christmas time so it is what it is :grumble:

You're gonna kill it this Christmas and make them eat their words

Well, I'm gonna have to leave this group... why? Because my Dr told me wednesday that I am only 10-15 pounds from what my healthy goal weight should be. So 20 pounds would be too much. That being said, I'm SUPER proud of my progress so far, and I know you wonderful guys and gals can do it!

    Good luck everyone!

I married into a relatively thin family (grrr!) and I always feel awful during the holidays. I have a couple items of clothing I haven't felt comfortable wearing for many years and would love to feel good wearing those around my in-laws! Also, it would be nice if I could have enough of a change where they comment on it, and where I can look at any pictures taken and not wince at how big I am.

Edit: Also, I would love for the holidays to roll around and I'm in control of my diet and fitness and can just not feel like I failed by falling out of a lifestyle change. I hope I can keep it up all the way through the holidays where I can make smarter choices in the face of all that yummy temptation.

Wow, I'm like so many others on here - I want to look good in pictures!! I went on vacation 2 years ago (I was at my heaviest) and saw a picture of a fat woman in a bathing suit and towel-wrap among a bunch of people. I said, "Who is THAT?" To my horror, I was told it was ME. After I got over the depression that set in and got diagnosed with diabetes 2, I jumped on here and am well on my way to looking better. I just need friends to keep me on track!

For my extended family that I only see once a year or so to notice some weight loss. I saw them all at my parents' 50th anniversary party which was mid- July, so by Christmas I'm hoping for someone to notice some difference.

My NSV Goal is: Mainly, feel better about myself, especially around the in-laws. I have a great holiday sweater that I haven't worn in 3 years. Twenty pound loss would get me in that sweater!

I want to stop being the fattest person in the room. I must live in a city of thin people because everywhere I go I'm the fattest person even though I have a BMI of 29.5.

    - I'm the fattest woman in my street
    - Fattest person when I go to a fitness class at both my gyms (I'm a member of 2 gyms)
    - I'm the Fattest one on a girls night out with friends
    - I liaise with many departments and am usually the fattest in any meeting I attend at work (From a staff complement of 5000)
    - Fattest woman in most restaurants on date night with my husband
    - Fattest wife when socialising with my hubby's friends and their wives

I can go on and on but you get the gist

I have a few NSV goals set.
    - wear the denim dress I last wore a year ago when I had better self control.
    - for my boobies to fit into bras that I have (nobody likes the nasty too-small bra overspillage!)
    - to take family photos and be proud to display them.

To fit some of the "skinny" clothes I bought a couple years ago when I was losing weight.
To get rid of my double chin in pictures lol
To wear heels on NYE without feeling like my ankles are going to give out.

But most of all to not allow the holiday season to derail my progress!!

  • It would be nice to be in some Christmas pictures instead of insisting to be the one taking the pictures.:blushing:
I am thinking the same, so many occasions and you wouldn't even know I was there.

By the time Christmas comes this year, I'll have lost three close family members to cancer--one was a cousin only 9 years older than me. This is why I finally got serious about my health/fitness...I can no longer take my body for granted and expect it to take care of me, yet I don't take care of it. I put on this extra weight 4 years ago and while I complained about it, I never seemed to be able to find my motivation to get it off (sexy dresses aside, lol). Well, now I have THREE reasons.
  • My NSV goals:

    (1) Rock a 2 piece swimsuit next summer when my husband and I goes on a cruise.
    (2) Complete multiple rounds of the 21 Day Fix
    (3) Be able to run a 5K without dying!!

To reach a level of fitness so much greater than I am at now, I make shovelling snow seem effortless!

(As the neighbours cry out, "How does she do that? Does the snow in her yard weigh less than ours?!")

To start a new year (and every year after) not trying to lose weight.

I think I'm going to pick this one up as a goal for the long run. I want to start a new year and then every year after without a weight loss goal.
